Overall fantastic stay staff all helpful, courteous . helpful and attentive Food and service all excellent had one small problem a cleanliness of part of the room was partly fixed but not entirely full satisfactory
My partner and I stayed just for one night, but we had a really nice time. Lovely hotel with well-kept grounds. We arrived quite early, but the reception managed to find a room that was ready for us, and check-in was very quick, so that was great. We really enjoyed breakfast in the morning! The reception staff were very friendly and couldn’t have done more for us. It was my partner’s birthday, and even though I had only mentioned if offhand when I booked, the girls at the desk gave him a big happy birthday when we arrived. Great for a quick night away or a special occasion.
A great hotel in a fantastic location with very friendly and helpful staff, from the moment we arrived with the concierge opening the door and offering to help us with our bags, the breakfast was excellent, we received a complimentary woolen hat each as it was very cold along with some complimentary fudge to welcome us The overall stay was excellent
Overnight stay to relax. Spent the afternoon in the sports bar and were well looked after by Ally & Glen the 2 barmen. They advised on different gins and then made some new cocktails for us to sample. Very friendly and welcoming service. Hotel was excellent as per usual, have been several times before and every time is superb
From the moment we arrived at the hotel we were treated like royalty. From the polite and helpful doorman to the charming receptionist who checked us in it set the tone for the whole stay! They were even so kind as to grant us complementary early check in along with a complementary upgrade. Once we got to the room all I can say is wow it was a ginormous suite with stunning sea views. Our shock only continued when we saw a lovely personalised gift in the room to mark the occasion we were celebrating. Throughout our 4 night stay we dined in the hotel on 3 occasions and the food and service were both delicious and prompt. No question ever seemed like too much! The atmosphere around the resort was great with a constant buzz of people without it been crowded and you could feel the holiday atmosphere everywhere! The decorations were exquisite too I wish I could make mine at home look half as good! I was staying with my family and the suite was so perfect for what we needed it is as if they knew my needs better than I did! I will 100% be back and hopefully soon! …
The restaurants are excellent, very knowledgeable and experienced with dealing with dietary requirements. Getting a Breakfast option is hit or miss depending on what is available. We visited with our son and we’re expecting a much higher quality breakfast service.
My family & In-laws stayed over Christmas and it was a very lovely experience. This is the second time we have stayed over Christmas but the last time they were just getting over Covid so things weren't quite as you might've expected. We booked for 3 nights and were given an upgraded room which was stunning and added a special touch as it had a Christmas tree in the room which the children loved. I did have some issues at check-in but were resolved very quickly and to my satisfaction by the Reservations Manager, Jane(who was very professional throughout). The Christmas package has loads of activities for the children but should be updated as the scavenger hunt with the questions is quite similar to last year, new ideas I think might be needed for this. If you haven't done it before I guess it would be fine. Service was excellent from all who served us at the Fairmont, we dined at Kittocks Den & La Cucina and the Kittocks Den staff, in particular, were extremely friendly and helpful. Christmas day lunch had a buzz about it which wasn't there last year which added to the occasion. They also have the best Santa for the children. Overall I would recommend Christmas at the Fairmont and hopefully, I can return this year again.…
My fiancé and I stayed at the Fairmont over Christmas and had a wonderful time. We got engaged in the Fairmont just over a year ago and have stayed a few times since so we thought we would go for Christmas and experience spending Christmas just the two of us. We checked in on the 24th to be treated by a lovely present in our room. We had booked our accommodation and Christmas dinner separately (not booked the Christmas package directly with the Fairmont) so the gift in our room was a pleasant surprise. We ate in La Cucina on Christmas Eve and had a lovely meal. We then sat in the Kittocks bar while carollers sang on. Santa was going around talking to the children in both areas and really made for a magical feeling. We have both said when we have our own children we would love to return for Christmas as they do really make it magical for the kids. Christmas morning came and we were greeted by Santas footprints next to the fireplace on our way out for a walk and had an excellent breakfast. Now for the biggest let down of the trip, Christmas Dinner. We paid £95 each for our dinner and to say we were disappointed is an understatement. The starters and desserts were fine as they were served buffet style, and tbh this suited us as we both aren’t keen on traditional Christmas starters so allowed us to pick as we chose. The main course however was horrible, turkey was a couple of slices of what felt like cooked meat out a packet. The potatoes felt like they had been left lying for hours then reheated and there was 2 measly pigs in blankets. I actually don’t even have any pictures of the meal because I remember thinking I don’t want to show people this is what we paid for. We did speak to the Director of Food who listened to our concerns and was so nice about it all. He took 50% off our bill and we couldn’t fault his reaction to it. He was very considerate and understanding of what we were saying. Now, would that stop us staying again? No it wouldn’t. We actually then ordered from the Kittocks bar that night and the food was stunning! It was all so fresh and tasted amazing. We had baked Camembert and battered pigs in blankets and it was unreal! If Christmas dinner had been as good as the food in the bar then there would have been zero complaints. On the whole, I can’t get over how magical the whole stay was and we would definitely book for Christmas again! I do think we would think twice about booking Christmas dinner tho unless there were assurances that this had been rectified.…
We had another fantastic stay at the fairmont! The staff always go above and beyond and the hotel is fantastic! There were great activities planned for children over the Christmas period and we had a super stay! Would highly recommend the hotel!
We have stayed in this hotel many times over the years and even attended as a sponser of some of the events they held. However now there is very long service times - which can be challenging if you have a young family. We were overchagred for items and charged for items we did not recieve which we had to return and dispute to have them removed. The prices in the restaurant near the bar seem quite high also given the slow servcie (10% gratituty is added to your bill automatically as a parting gift from the hotel)
