It could do with a renovation like new carpeting and new matress, although room was clean the diginess made if feel a bit dirty. There was a hole in the wall near where you hang clothes w/ a ball of rolled up tin foil stuck inside. Safe didn't work, made the staff aware of this but they could not fix it. Bathroom also in need of a reno. Bathtub was super slippery had to bathe on my knees. stains on counter tops that looked like splatered bleach. Bed was rock hard. Positives: location, good food and service. Breakfast was good too w/ attentive service.

Popped into Greyfriars for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Frequent this establishment very regularly with clients. I’m always very impressed by one staff member , she has worked there as long as we have been going in for lunches and is very attentive and very pleasant. We were seated by a young man to make our lunch choice, we waited to be served, i observer the young man collecting glasses and looking at cheques, he made no attempt to come back eventually Fiona noticed us sitting and came right over to deal with us, this lady is always very efficient, pleasant, hard working and an asset to the business. Fantastic example of a great team member. Looking forward to our return visit 😊

Good points - great location for St Andrews, probably the best for between the town and courses. Value for money- great price for a Saturday night in St Andrews especially with breakfast. Room seemed clean too. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Bad points- rooms could do with a little TLC, shower gel dispenser had fallen off the wall, electrical socket coming away and loud creeks in the floor. Soundproofing- noise from outside was pretty loud and also doors slamming were quite loudly heard inside the room. bed was pretty small and very hard. Overall good value for money for St Andrews at this price, you get what you pay for.

A very comfortable large double room with sofa, armchairs and desk. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable, and the water hot. We had checked in late, after being delayed in Edinburgh by a trip to A&E with a broken arm, and the reception staff couldn't have been more helpful. The following day, again such friendly, helpful staff - seeing my predicament, offering to help with carrying bags, opening doors etc. And a special thanks to Fiona, who identified straight away that I might have a bit of a challenge with breakfast (my husband had already left for his work commitment) and she looked after me brilliantly. Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty Fiona!

Our second time at the Greyfriars Inn for a pub lunch. As per last time, it didn't disappoint. Nice surroundings, good food and very welcoming staff. We looked at other options but it's now our place to go in St Andrews.

We were a party of 4 looking to have dinner. The ladies both has scampi and chips and we has fish and chips. All fairly basic stuff. The ladies enjoyed their scampi and the portions were a good size. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for the fish. Neither of uf enjoyed it. The fish batter was soggy and the fish was tasteless. Both of us left quite a lot on the plate. this is pub grub at it's best and worst. Needs to be consistent.

Had lunch, fabulous service, went above and beyond. Our server Fiona was amazing and really treated us well. Brought some Australian guests here and they put on a special haggis just for them even though it wasnt on the menu at the time. Well worth a visit, food was brilliant.
