Great value of money. Right in the centre of Glasgow. Car park nearby and hotel offers discounted overnight parking. Continental breakfast is basic but that's expected for its price and location, and you have the option to pay £3 for a cooked breakfast. Stayed in triple room, basic setting but comfortable, good shower in European standard. No lift available so...

A budget hotel situated in an old merchants house which represented value for money, but had a couple of real drawbacks: the stairwell was in a circular turret with 20 circular steps per floor and no lift. Breakfast was served in the basement, 16 circular steps down. I was on the first floor, and therefore had to negotiate 72 steps...

Impossible to spare this place from a negative review. Room101-106 are in an annex on the ground floor close to a local pub. People boozing, chatting and shouting till 3am just outside of the windows. Breakfast stops at 8.45am, totally useless. It is a pity because the Indian guy at the reception tried his best to be helpful, but ...sorry....

Last week we spent 7days at Merchant City Inn, Glasgow and was very satisfied with our stay. We were allocated a ground floor room. The Inn is in a very central position. Few minutes from Argyle tube station, 6min from train station and about 10min from bus station. The staff were always helpful, breakfast was plentiful and well cooked the...

Not at all what I expected after reading reviews. I would class this place as a Hostel. Staff most unfriendly, place freezing, not very clean and smelt of damp. Dirty marks all over light switches and dirty surfaces where tea & coffee facilities Yuk! Couldn't wait to leave, thank goodness only there 2nights. Breakfast adequate. Definately will not be back

Not worth £90 for a night stay.... yes situated right in the centre but big let down. Damp smell in first room and second wasn't much better. Couldn't swing a cat in bathroom and bed was the worst sleep ever. Would rather pay little bit more for a more home from home stay.

Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and nicely appointed rooms. Generous continental breakfast. Excellent central location for a quick overnight or tourist stop. Only quibble is the soft/collapsed mattress on the bed.

The rooms are warm and clean, the staff friendly, breakfast is OK There is NCP car park 5 min walk away - convenient if you have a car.The hotel gives you a special card that discounts the overnight rate from £20 down to £8....

Heritage building, value, clean, lashings of hot water, friendly staff. Very well located. It does not have all the frills and room a little small but who cares on a City break. What not to like? Visited about 6 times and there are steady improvements

Stayed at The Merchant City Inn at the end of February 2017. The first thing I should say is that when we mentioned to anyone local where we were staying it got quite the reaction! Anyway we chose to ignore that and checked in anyway..... The first night was really not a good experience. The room, while large was right...
