The Premier Inn Glasgow East hotel garners praise for its spotless premises and comfortable beds, with numerous guests commending the staff's exceptional service and warm hospitality. Its prime location is touted as perfect for exploring Glasgow and convenient for various travel purposes. While the rooms are celebrated for their cleanliness and comfort, some visitors have pointed out issues with temperature control and minor upkeep. Opinions on value are split; some appreciate the reasonable pricing, but others feel extra costs, such as for premium WiFi, are a downside. Although the amenities meet basic expectations, a few suggest modernizing the bathrooms and tech features. Overall, the hotel's atmosphere, bolstered by cozy bedding and spacious rooms, is frequently described as inviting.

We have stayed here a number of times in the last 10 years, it's the best place to stay if you are looking for a decent / affordable hotel on the doorstep of Glasgow Airport.

The cleaning staff take pride in what they do, the rooms are always spotless, that's important these days with Covid still doing the rounds. The staff at reception are friendly and helpful, if you need a document printing or photocopying you only need to ask, they go out of there way to help, that's appreciated.

The 8 oz sirloin steak, grilled to perfection is as good as you'll get anywhere and at £15.99 it's a bargain, other than the sirloin, the double stacked beef / cheese burger
or the chicken burgers are second to none, you really are spoiled for choice here, add to that a pint of Belhaven at £3.15 is cheaper than my local.

Top the above up by the friendly restaurant staff, special mention to Duty Manager Sol for the attentive and professional way he oversees table service.

Last but not least, the guys and girls behind the scenes in the kitchen do a great job, the quality of the food and the presentation on the plate makes the meals that more enjoyable.

Almost forgot to mention the self service / eat all you can breakfast, the pork sausage are excellent, as is the bacon, the black pudding, poached or fried eggs, beans, coffee, fresh orange juice, it makes for an excellent start to the day.

It's a 10 from us, we've tried the rest {at the airport} this is the best.

I stay a in a lot of Premier Inns and this was one of the better ones.
Just stayed the 1 night but found it to be very clean and had everything I needed for a quick work stopover.
The staff were exceptional in both the Inn and the attached Black Bear pub.

Arrived late, a quick book in and straight next door for some food. Every time I passed reception, I was always greeted with the best of genuine smiles and felt very welcomed.

The food in Black Bear was great. Good portions and despite being very busy (would advise booking a table at reception or even online ahead of your visit) the staff were spot on and attentive. The full rack of ribs and fries I ordered , nearly defeated me!
The room was quiet and I slept well before checking out very early at 6:30am so didn't have time to sample the breakfast.
Would stay again as the staff are good, the room clean and tidy and it's very convenient for a quick stopover or as a base for business in the area.

Returned home to Scotland for the 1st time since Ovid. Stayed at the black bear as it was close family, have stayed previously. Expected mask wearing /covid safety. Was told on arrival that housekeeping did not come in every day, but as we were staying 7 nights expected to have some service without always having to request it, the one time that we did ask they did such a half hearted effort, they shouldn't have bothered. Never saw them again. Sadly there was not much ventilation in the room and it was very noisy with traffic. Do not think I would stay at this premier inn again.

During our stay at Glasgow East we experienced a number of issues. After selecting a non smoking room, we entered our room and it STANK of smoke. We tried to change rooms but we were told the hotel was fully booked and was given an air freshener spray.
The toilet seat was yellow, the shower curtain was mouldy. The room itself was not very well maintained with stains, cobwebs, cigarette burns and in general an all round unhygienic feeling. We stayed for four nights and although the staff were very friendly, the hotel itself is an absolute state and it desperately needs maintenance. We didn’t expect much from a budget hotel and this wouldn’t have been our first choice of stay but our friends were getting married and we were told this was the hotel that the wedding guests would be staying for convenience. It would have been more convenient to stay elsewhere had we have known what we would have experienced. This added stress to our stay as we had flown from another country in order to attend this wedding. The windows hardly open, which is understandable for safety reasons but it would be nice to be able to air out such a room. In the end we had to have the window open during the day in order to have some kind of ventilation in our room. We then got back to a very cold room considering it’s the start of autumn, this wasn’t ideal. We have pictures as supporting evidence should you like to see them, feel free to email me. Once again the staff at the hotel were spectacular and friendly and there was only so much they could do on order to assist us. We look forward to hearing back from you and hope some kind of compensation will be given as an apology. It’s just not good enough to have people stay at a hotel with such lack of upkeep.

Usual premier inn amenities
Room was adequate and clean.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Hotel is located adjacent to a motorway junction which give easy access for a forward or return journey.
A Bus stop is located adjacent to the hotel which is ideal for visiting Glasgow centre.
The buses run every 10 minutes and an adult return to Glasgow is £4.50 or an adult all day travel can be purchased for £4.90.
We did not use the adjacent pub for food or drinks so I can not comment or review.
This is our 2nd stay at this hotel and we would not hesitate to return or recommend.

Hotel is same as any premier inn except this one the wifi is unusable and the water pressure is pathetic, usually in a premier inn the shower is good. No rooms cleaned for a whole week (covid blamed of course, but no reduction on room rate) . In 2022 there is no justifiable reason for a hotel in a major international city to have crap Wifi, unless you are premier inn of course that want you to pay £5 a day to upgrade your wifi. I must of stayed in at least 100 different premier inns, same things let them down every time. Comfortable rooms but cheap on everything else.

Accessibility issues outside, the access ramp to the hotel isn’t level to the car park with a at least a 2 inch hight that my wheelchair couldn’t clear forwards or backwards- as a part time user I was forced to manually push my electric chair up and over the drop which wasn’t easy. Then the rooms heater wouldn’t keep the room warm at all 14 wax the warmest it got in two nights until they provided a portable heater.

The bed was comfortable but oddly only a double compared to premier inns standard rooms.
The cleaning staff were lovely and very helpful with all the doors when coming out of my room in the mornings 5-6 doors all opening in different directions.

Note for full time wheelchair users, the ramp access will pose the same issue it did me, the level access ramp to the restaurant does connect to the hotel access but then as you turn the corner its steps down, leaving us no alternative but the difficult access.
Another issue you might face, the bathroom isn’t a roll in shower it’s over a low ish bath lots of grabrails though depending on your needs.

Visiting for family funeral. Location was ideal. Have stayed at this hotel before. Friendly welcome, explained facilities and helped with restaurant booking. Covid precautions obvious and made us feel at ease. Room clean and spacious. Felt that bathroom not quite so clean. Dead insect on ceiling and main light not working - how long since this was checked? Would have complained but as we were there for a funeral did not want any hassle. We were at the rear of the hotel so no traffic noise but early morning delivery / bin emptying was an unpleasant wakeup call. Bar and restaurant nicely spaced out and clean. Ate in restaurant first night. Some limitations to menu due to current situation. Food good but starter portions felt very small for the price charged. Good service. Ate at funeral second night but visited bar for a drink afterwards. Bar empty except for a group of four men in working clothes who were VERY DRUNK and loud and sweary with it. Could not believe that staff kept selling them strong lager and made no attempt to quieten them down. They were ordering another round as we left! Spoiled the evening but I suppose they were spending more money than us. Overall visit ok.

Ceiling very creaky and walls thin. Children running up and down the corridor outside the room until late. Premier inns need to do something about their slamming doors so it prevents people from doing it. The room itself smelt of mould. The receptionist dealt with us whilst trying to sort out another customer and didn't even ask if we wanted breakfast in the morning. And on leaving we was not asked if everything was ok with the stay. All and all not a good one for a stay.
