We stayed here in August 2014. It is beautifully located on the banks of the Ness and the house is wonderfully furnished. Joyce is clearly a woman with a fascinating hinterland and she has made the house (it was originally her parents') utterly lovely on the inside, with dark olive greens, rich browns and golds, and a sweeping banister. The...

We recently returned from 3 weeks of touring Scotland, and find that our stay at Macrae Guest House was one of the highlights. The location is fantastic, with the beautiful River Ness out front and dozens of restaurants within walking distance. Joyce is a jewel and was terrific at pointing us towards the best food and nightly entertainment in Inverness...

A lovely guest house. As I am travelling by myself abroad for the first time, I had some anxiety about the places I might be staying during my trip. Once I saw the property, though, my fears were immediately relieved. The guest house is in a wonderful location - a nice, quiet spot right across from the river and very...

Charming and quiet B&B by the Ness. Good breakfast (toast, cheese, homemade jam, etc.) Joyce has been a very nice and kind hostess taking time to give us some tips for our visit of the city. If I ever have to go back to Inverness I will surely book at this place.

Even though it is not Joyce's fault Inverness chose our travel dates to tear up all the roads, that had a big impact on our stay at the Macrae Guest House. After 3 phone calls to Joyce and driving past the place 2 times without knowing it, we found the "market and car park" because she sent her son out...

Really spacious family room for 3 overlooking the river (small ensuite as a result), beautifully clean and daily servicing! Joyce is a font of all knowledge Inverness and...

This B &B is located right on the river, a very short walk to shops, restaurants, etc. The room we stayed in was small, the bathroom mini. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay.Everything was clean and Joyce was a gracious and helpful hostess. I do not think it was rated, but is pretty much a two star property.

We recently stayed two nights at the Macrae Guest and were very happy with our upstairs room with its great view over the River Ness. Joyce was a friendly and accommodating host. We had to leave very early on our last morning and she was kind enough to provide a breakfast tray for us. The room was inviting, warm and...

When we decided to go back to Inverness to complete our second Loch Ness Marathon we booked our stay back at the Macrae Guest House. We had fond memories of our last visit the year before and were more than happy to re-book and stay with the owner Joyce. As a host she was wonderful - friendly, knowledgeable and always...
