I can only recall one other time that I have been so fed up that I have left a 1 star review. The Mercure in Inverness have managed to gain this accolade by ultimately failing in what a hotel should be about, that is giving you a decent nights sleep. Firstly, the room was £130. This is quite steep, anywhere...

Dear Guest I am sincerely sorry to hear that you left the Hotel with unresolved issues and judging by your review I am quite honestly shocked that none of these issues were brought to our attention by you during your stay. Thankfully it does seem like an isolated case as none of the other 117 rooms in use that night...

Hotel looks a bit dated from the outside but the interior reception is nice and the reception staff were kind and helpful, I would say that the parking fee is a bit steep though at £6 for overnight parking. Is it really necessary to charge? We booked through itison with dinner, wine and B and B. The food was fine...

I stayed at the hotel several days ago. My first impressions of the hotel weren't great. I came in through the parking lot. It definitely needs some updating and looks very much like it was opened in the 70's. The front desk person was very nice and quickly gave me my room. The lobby is nice but again needs to...

We previously stayed here in 2014 and found the reception staff were poorly trained then. On our recent trip the staff were excellent, well trained, helpful and efficient. Our executive room overlooking the river was spacious and very comfortable, and the king size bed was great. Noise from other residents in the corridor outside was occasionally annoying. Our only criticism...

We requested a Riverside or City View. We got the top of a building and the garbage collection area along with the staff that smoked. When we asked about the Riverside, we were told, "You are on the "river side"." Yes, it was somewhere out the window on the other side of the ugly flat roof. The air was NOT...

The selling point for this moderately corporate city centre hotel is the location. Get a room with a river view and the vista is unbroken. The breakfast is fairly predictable and the room and bed are comfortable, and the bathroom clean. Staff are kindly and considerate, and all felt very satisfactory.

Positives: Handy for the station; breakfast staff were friendly; breakfast was okay Negatives: I was originally given the smallest double room I'd ever seen - nothing like the rooms on the website. Walls were filthy; water leaking down the walls from the room above. Moved to a bigger room - yes, they do have them, so insist if they try...
