A nice warm and friendly hotel ideal for a break at this time of year. The staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and went out of their way to make sure everything was as we liked. The food was very well presented all locally sourced and tasted excellent.

Recently revisited this highland hotel in the middle of Hurricane Henri so just as well the hotel and, in particular, our room was cosy and comfortable and it was no hardship to spend time there relaxing in comfort. The lounge, dining and bar areas are what you hope and expect in a fabulous old property built long ago as someone's...

Just had a lovely night's stay in the Newton; our room was spotless, beautifully furnished and just had a lovely, relaxing feel; similarly the young folk from Nairn and elsewhere that were looking after us were great, just right. As were the Newton's two particular atmosphere-setters, the Highland cattle. Worth the trip just to see these guys (who live in...

Got a fantastic deal on 'itison' for dinner bed and breakfast. The staff were very caring and attentive. The food was lovely and breakfast had a great selection both a continental choice and to order choices. The bed was huge - lots of space in the room and loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. Couldn't fault the hotel or...

I was here as part of a large group of Edinburgh club runners for the Master's cross country championship races in nearby Forres. The hotel is close to the Moray coast seafront and is set in beautiful grounds of mature woodland and fields, it is a haven of peace and noise free perfection. The hotel itself is in castle style,...

Got a great 1 night stay, D&BB, in an executive double room. .First impression on arriving and seeing the hotel from the car park. WOW. A building with character and history. Check in was smooth and friendly, the inside of the hotel was as good as the outside with wood panelling throughout.. Our room was first class and spotless, a...

My wife and I took a last minute break at the Newton (the morning of our night away) this was through the hotels winter bargain scheme. We thought that a last minute, low cost break would not land us with the best room in the hotel, and this was the case. However our room although a bit plain had an...

We've stayed here twice now for Christmas and both times were incredible. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly, the scenery and surroundings of the hotel are beautiful and lastly the quality of the food is exceptional. The effort put in to make your Christmas Day are outstanding, I would definitely recommend going.

We arrived at this hotel about six O'Clock on Thursday evening, too late to get the cream tea on arrival but we were offered it the following day.We stayed in an executive room on the second floor, on entering to our right was a double wardrobe and two case holders and to our left was a spacious bathroom with both...

I had eaten here with business colleagues previously but never stayed overnight. Room warm, clean and well equipped. Staff excellent throughout. On a half board basis and for a two night stay, I don't believe you will find better value for money for a short winter break or overnight business stop.
