We booked The Garden Room for a family birthday meal and had a fantastic time. Staff were extremely helpful right from the initial call to book right up to when we had to leave. Food was delicious and really beautifully presented. There was a good selection of wines and non-alcoholic wines which was great. Even though the bar and restaurant...

We stumbled upon this venue for lunch, completely by accident, and cannot praise it highly enough! It was the Easter Bank holiday Monday, very busy, but the staff were not in the least flustered and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We were seated in the restaurant, as the lounge bar was full, and the surroundings...

Just back from a really great experience at the Chestnuts Hotel. We booked this for a small family celebration - using their Garden Room. This is ideal for intimate gatherings - takes up to 20. All the people working at the Hotel were superb; so helpful without being intrusive. They were happy to work around us - and that can't...

The hotel staff are very helpful and the rooms very comfortable. There was a distinct smell of gloss paint in the building due to some refurbishment that was going on. If you want to eat before 7 its best to book a table as it gets very busy in the restaurant because of the offers they have on.

First time here and throughly enjoyed our celebratory meal. Staff very friendly and lovely ambience. Food excellent and no trouble at all to bring out birthday cake. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal - clean plates all around spoke volumes. Highly recommend.

Another visit to Chesnuts did not leave us disappointed - great selection on the menu and well presented food. Staff were first class and nothing was a problem. We were with a party of five, most having a different meal and all came to the table piping hot. Looking forward to our next visit.

Had visited Chestnuts before for an lunch then an evening meal and on both occasions was very impressed both in the food quality and friendliness of the staff. Decided to have a weekend stay with my wife and we were not disappointed. The room we had was lovely, well appointed with a very large bed and bathroom. The bar and...

The fact that the restaurant at The Chestnuts Hotel was booked out for lunch and dinner on Mothering Sunday says it all! The food was, as ever, terrific, and the staff friendly and professional - same as always! Love this place! Always a great atmosphere too. Never fails to deliver.

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time. Staff are friendly, excellent food and drinks. Our room was fabulous although it did rather stink of gloss paint - but we persevered as it was such a lovely room. We had an evening meal on Valentine's night and the food was superb, fresh mussels, lobster and monk fish...
