I stayed here last year and it is very cheap and comfy. The only problem I had was it was extremely warm. Rooms are clean and staff are nice. Right in the city centre and 10 mins walk to the beach which is handy.

This was mine and my partners second stay at the Ayrshire and Galloway Hotel, lovely clean rooms and great staff. We had a mix up with the room when my partner booked a twin room by mistake (maybe he was trying to tell me something) but luckily the lady at the desk was very helpful and there was a double...

Stayed as part of a motorbiking tour. Car parking behind hotel takes a bit of finding, but works OK. Rooms small but OK. Bed a bit hard and uncomfortable. Our tariff did not include breakfast, which is not in any case available till 10am. Evening meal fine, and fry reasonably priced. Ask for a room at the rear.

had lunch at the Ayrshire & Galloway Bistro last weekend with 9 friends on the day of the Scottish Grand National. The place was really busy and the waiter advised us to order food and we may have a wait however it was served within about 20 mins. We all had mains only and the food was average, filled a...

Very basic but good value for money if it's only for one night. I chose it for the price and distance from the airport, but I wouldn't stay longer to say the truth. Furniture in the single room I had was very outdated and worn out. Not exactly what you see in the pics on the net. Staff wasn't that...

Located on the corner of Burns Statue Square and Killoch Place, nestled amongst lots of other pubs and restaurants, the 'Shire' is a gem. The staff were very pleasant and keen to assist. We didn't stay in the Hotel but popped in for lunch and ordered a couple of Spicy Chicken and Chilli Flatbreads at £5.95 each. Our food was...

I had a late lunch here with friends last week and the service was amazing. The food was fantastic and good value for money. The staff are so friendly especially our server Steven and the barman Charlie, nothing was too much trouble. They are so knowledgeable about what they are serving. Will definitely revisit when back in the area. Top...

Stayed here for 2 nights bed only basis. Twin room at the front room was massive and clean. Bed was a comfy enough but would have been better if it didn't move everytime you sat on it. Toilet was again big and spotless. The only down fall was the noise kept us up all night constant traffic and somebodys alarm...

First visit to Ayr in five years.Chose this Pub,\Hotel for a couple of days stay. Public areas and accommodation were spotless.. We had the family room which is a good size although a little dated. Very comfy beds . The Bistro serves good quality dinners and a good breakfast selection. Barman was very pleasant and chatty. You can also use...

We fancied a short break, a bit of retail therapy, preferably somewhere on the coast..what better than Ayr? Needed somewhere central so that all the amenities were withing walking distance, and the Ayrshire & Galloway Hotel ticked all the boxes. Within minutes of searching online I was booked in - £90 for two nights wouldn't cause too big a dent...
