On arrival we were told room cleaning etc will be carried out only every second day. On entering the room, on a hot July afternoon we were dissapointed to discover that no rooms have air-conditioning and the small fan had little affect on the uncomfortable atmosphere, which made sleep hard. When we stood on a bottle top on the floor and saw that the duvet cover was soiled we were worried that cleanliness was not a priority. Cobwebs and grime around the windows added to our concerns. The manager on duty was sympathetic to us, apologised and arranged to have the room cleaned. We noted a complementary bottle of Chilean wine in our room. On a more positive note the staff are friendly and courteous and the pool and spa areas are really nice and so relaxing. The restaurant serves reasonable food for the most part, although like previous reviewers I found the fillet steak to be slightly overdone and chewy. Overall we felt let down by the hotel which fell way short of our expectations.

Second time staying in the Maryborough and they did not disappoint. The weather was exceptionally warm and they had a fan in our room working away to keep it cool. This so was our first hotel stay of 2021 and with covid we were obviously anxious like so many others. We dined in the restaurant that evening and the food was too notch and the portion sizes were just right. We decided to have breakfast in the room that morning. They also had a full bottle of hand sanitizer in the bathrooms which was a very nice touch. We very much enjoyed our stay and will most definitely return again

We had Afternoon Tea here, seated outside (due to Covid-19 restrictions). It was a lovely experience with tasty food. The selection was pretty good and the garden area has a nice vibe, very family friendly with attentive staff. Recommended.
