This hotel is in a fantastic location within walking distance from the train station & all the lovely restaurants, shops & main shopping centre. We had a very comfortable stay. The bed was very comfy. Our room had a view of the River Lee & a balcony. We didn’t use it much as the weather was rainy. The staff were very friendly & helpful. My partner who was working very early every morning was given a warm hello by Dean & a gift of coffee & a pan chocolat This thoughtfulness really helped make working on holidays a little easier!! I would like to see more effort made to recycle all the disposables being used in the rooms. There were no recycling bins available.

Second time staying here. Perfect location, staff are friendly however the only let down was when we arrived to check in at 15.00pm our room wasn’t ready so had to wait in the lobby. About 40 mins later a staff came over and said the room was ready. Felt annoyed as everyone else who checked in after me got the keys to their room no problem. Had a good nights rest here and enjoyed the breakfast.

Choose this hotel as we saw the great reviews on the Clayton and it’s location being so close to the city centre. We had also chosen to stay here to celebrate a special occasion only for it to be completely not acknowledged at all throughout our stay which was very disappointing. Arrived to our room which was lovely only to realise the air conditioning wasn’t working, we had no robes in our room as we had planned to use the vitality suite. The next day we chose to use there coffee service in the ground floor which was very nice also however the customer service wasn’t so great as I was made feel belittled by a face being thrown by one of the servers. I must say the Globe restaurant staff were the only good part of our stay here and the rest made us feel very unwelcome here. Not once were we asked if we were enjoying our stay nor at checkout either. Very unaccommodating which was to our surprise as we heard other people throughout our stay had a great experience but unfortunately we had the opposite for some reason.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was absolutely lovely , the staff were so friendly and chatty and very helpful, one staff member who stood out the most for us was Olivia who was very warm and welcoming! The attention to detail , even for the smallest things was brilliant , especially the house keeping. The hotel itself was overall lovely inside and we both really enjoyed our stay and will be back again , All the best, Jack & Niamh
