Great location, just 15/20 mins walk from the city centre. Hostel was very basic but clean and tidy, staff helpful and friendly and from all nationalities. really nice independent cafe attached. Breakfast basic, but did the job. Can rent storage/luggage space for €2 per day. As for the room itself, very basic but clean and comfortable! The shower was annoying...

Stayed one night for a concert in Dublin. No complaints whatsoever, perfect for what we wanted. The staff were very accommodating when we asked to all stay in the same room (4 bed). Free Wi-Fi in the room is a huge plus.

This friendly hostel has a cute cafe and tiny rooms that are comfy. Our private double had a sink. Despite a pretty scary elevator, the kitchen, cafe and the rest of the hostel were pefect for a quick stay and cheap eats. However, the hot water here is some eco-friendly nonsense (maybe solar, if I remember right). You press the...

It's ok for the price you paying... A bit loud outside if you looking for a good night sleep... Bathrooms aren't great have to say.. Housekeeping didn't do good job.. The shower to be honest not great either but anyway 4 * coz is cheap near to anything in town and staff really really friendly

This is a good place to stay if you are a backpacker on a budget. The rooms are small and clean. The room I stayed in had two singles with ensuite shower and toilet. It's also located close to the main attractions in Dublin. The staff I dealt with were also friendly. However I would advise some caution when staying...

Hi There, Thank you for taking the time to review us, it can be noisy with backpackers and students however we do have ear plugs (for free) at reception so don't hesitate to ask the next time :) All the Best Team @ Avalon House

Where to begin! My sister and I were desperately wandering the streets of Dublin early on a Saturday morning, going from hostel to hostel because everything was booked. When we came to Avalon they didn't have the room but they told us to help ourselves to breakfast and wait to see if something opened up. Shortly after one of the...

The location of the hostel is very good. It's fairly close to the Temple Bar area, St. Stephen's Green and the Castle, which is brilliant. The only downside about the hostel aside from the noise (which you do expect in a hostel, but it really wasn't that bad at all), was the quality of the wifi. Maybe it was just...

From reading some of the 1 and 2 star reviews on here after I booked, I was worried I was going to be staying in a hovel. Nothing could be further from the truth. I was on my own, meeting up with friends for the Ireland-Scotland football international, so I booked a private room. €70, or £50 to me, for...

Stayed in 4 person room with en-suite for recent football trip. Hostel is in a good location - close to bars, restaurants and is an easy enough walk to the Temple Bar area. The area around the hostel seemed very safe. The room itself was small (not a complaint as we knew it would be this size but may be...

It is a hostel that is close to everything which is good, and the price is fair. The only thing I would say is that the lockers should be complimentary since there aren't any in the rooms, besides that everything is good about the hostel. Budget hostel but in a central location.
