The Croke Park Hotel is outside of the city center of Dublin -- it is about a 20-25 minute walk to attractions in the city. The neighborhood is a mix of residential and small businesses (e.g., auto repair, plumbing), and it felt safe during the...More

To be honest, I am really surprised this is ranked third out of all the hotels in Dublin. The neighborhood isn't that nice although it is close to things like Croke Park and O'Connell St. The façade and especially the interior hallways need updating. Everything...More
We did a self-drive tour and stayed at a hotel in Dublin the first and last nights. This hotel was by far better than our other experience in Dublin. We would definitely stay here again at the front end of tail end of our Ireland...More
We wanted a hotel close enough to Dublin to explore and to easily get back to the ferry as we only had 1 night here, this hotel was perfect! Rooms are very modern and roomy, the White Company toiletries are a nice touch. We didn't...More

At the airport there are two choices as I recall; the airport shuttle and a local bus (I can't remember the number but the Croke Park Hotel told me and will tell you). Contrary to what the hotel told me, you can't buy tickets in the airport for the local bus but you do pay upon entering the bus. That's why I did. The fare is in the region of 3-4 Euro and you have to have the right change ready. The local bus doesn't have a great deal of room for luggage and can get busy (single decker and standing room only). Also, both buses take longer than you think to get to and from town. Allow an hour though it could be 40 minutes.
