This is a relatively economical but not cheap place to stay in Dublin. The location could not be better -- on the most beautiful green in Dublin and close to the archeological and art museums. The staff is very obliging. But the plumbing doesn't work. In the sink and the shower, you have a choice between scalding and freezing water....

The location of this hotel can not be beat for exploring Dublin. Almost everything was in comfortable walking distance - Temple Bar, Grafton St, the DART station, O'Connell Street, and more. We had a Jr Suite - King bed with a separate sitting area. It was perfect, very roomy and comfortable. The staff at this hotel were wonderful. One woman...

Only stayed here one night but the man who checked us in was fantastic to deal with and really engaged with us. The location is unbeatable if you're visiting Dublin particularly if you want to go out in town at night as its really easy to walk back to the hotel from most city centre venues. The rooms are nice,...

My husband and I visited Ireland July 6-13, 2015 and we stayed at O'Callaghan Stephen's Green for the week of our trip. When we arrived on the 6th, we got to the hotel early in the morning because our flight landed at 6:30 AM. At first they told us our room wouldn't be ready till the afternoon, but for a...

I stay here for a business trip and the place is excellent. I can't think of a better location to stay in Dublin. Everything was close. The ony problem is that in order to get to the room I had to take first one elevator go one floor, cross a hall and then take another elevator. To consider that I...

This hotel is right on a corner across from St. Stephens Green which is a beautiful, serene park in which to meander among foliage, flowers & fountains; a great place to take a stroll after breakfast or dinner. It's also right downtown so in just a few minutes you can be shopping or dining or 'pubbing' in beautiful Dublin. The...

Great place to stay - though the hotel is very large. We loved how well situated it was and how easy it was to get around Dublin. Breakfast was expensive so we did our own thing at the various cafés in the nearby city. The staff was very helpful at reception. I would stay again if I could get a...

The hotel is right across from St. Stephen's Green, a quiet area but not far from restaurants and shopping. In fact, we walked just about everywhere we wanted to go in the city. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The hotel comprises of two magnificently restored Georgian buildings, with a heritage of great historical and cultural importance to Ireland. One was home to the great Irish playwright, George Fitzmaurice, while 4 Harcourt Street was the birthplace of Lord Edward Carson, one of the founders of Northern Ireland and a central figure in Ireland’s Unionism movement. Entering through the tasteful reception area, guests will be struck by the stunning glass atrium, filling the lobby with natural light and overlooking the idyllic Stephen’s Green park. The stylish interior design throughout the hotel, with wood panelling and soft leather furnishings sitting alongside Georgian stucco ceilings and elegant fireplaces, beautifully showcases the fusion of old and new. George Fitzmaurice is honoured in the hotel through our bar and restaurant, which are named after two of his plays. The ‘Magic Glasses’ Bar is an opulent, comfortable bar where local businesspeople and visitors alike regularly meet over a coffee or drink, while the ‘Pie Dish’ Bistro, set in the bright atrium and the inner rooms of the Georgian houses, serves the finest in contemporary Irish and international cuisine. Located on the first floor, the Georgian library has a charming old-world feel, where you can sit in 19th century surrounds, featuring open fireplaces and chandeliers – an ideal way to unwind over a pre-dinner drink. A gymnasium is available for the exclusive use of residents, while the business centre is open 24 hours, with a secretarial service available for the business guest. Flexibility and choice is a core value of O’Callaghan Hotels. Guests can use the facilities and services of any Dublin O’Callaghan Hotel and have the account conveniently billed back to your room. ... more   less
