I travel to Dun Laoghaire fairly frequently, but this was the first time I have stayed at the Haddington. Looks good from the outside. Well located with great views over Dublin Bay from the front. The dining/breakfast room as some seats in the large picture windows which are elevated and the view superb. The hotel is old and being refurbished....

Well not stayed in a few years and have witness the change from the Kingston to Haddington and have to say impressed. Love the reception area and welcoming space, check in was easy. Booked a sea view room and looked fresh and had a few nice touches. Might seem silly but loved the fact the Nespresso machine had water in...

Excellent stay overnight . Delicious dinner in Italian Restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast was lovely with fresh fruit, berries and perfectly poached eggs. Bed was so comfortable. Would definitely return. Have stayed in 4 star hotels that didn't have such a high standard.

I recently, along with my siblings arranged an evening, a surprise party for my father in The Haddington. My sister had booked a lovely room, exactly what we needed, ground floor with a front view over Dun Laoghaire bay and arranged some hor dourves, prosecco and discussed how best to arrange the room with their managers. The guests arrived and...

We booked the Haddington mainly because of its location, near the Dart & lovely part of Dublin. We are a family of 5 so two of us were in one room and the other 3 were in another. The hotel location is fantastic. The views of the harbor and sea are beautiful and I will definitely come back in the...

We booked two deluxe rooms here, a double and a twin, and were given nice spacious rooms at the front of the hotel with great views across the pier to Howth Head. The double was a refurbished room, and the twin in the older theme, which actually had a more cosy feel than the renovated room. However, our double was...

We stayed in The Haddington for one night recently in a refurbished room and were so impressed! The refurbishment is being really well planned, and although not yet complete there was no interference in our stay. Our room was simply perfect. The new decor was so lovely and the room amenities were excellent (wifi, nespresso machine, mini fridge, rain shower,...

I have been staying at this hotel for the past 15 years and since it had been taken over 5 years ago it has gone from strength to strength. Wonderful location, fantastic value for money, the restaurant is fab great food. I stayed at this hotel recently for work. To be brutally honest, it was a last resort as I'd stayed here previously when it was called another name, and vowed that I would not return. Well how things have changed. I got a great room that was recently renovated. New carpets, furniture, etc. It even had a nespresso machine (and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated on the seafront in Dun Laoghaire, The Haddington has panoramic views of Dublin Bay. Originally four Georgian townhouses the hotel began its life as Haddington House, a finishing school for girls, before being converted into a hotel in the 1950s. We are continuing to develop the hotel property but in keeping with the unique heritage of the building. Our fifty en suite bedrooms have flat screen multi-channel TV's, free WiFi, Nespresso coffee machines, digital radios, hair dryers and filtered still and sparkling water. Our newer 'Classic' and 'Deluxe' rooms also come with an in-room safe, a mini fridge stocked with fresh milk, as well as a complimentary Irish Times. Most of the rooms in these categories also have spectacular sea views. The location is hard to beat with Dun Laoghaire DART station just a 5-minute walk away which provides regular rail connections to Dublin's city centre. The Aviva Stadium and the RDS can be reached after a 10-minute DART rail journey. If you're staying in the area, we have partnered up with a number of local businesses so guests can enjoy discounts on activities. The beautiful village of Dalkey is a short trip down the coast and is great for an afternoon's ramble. Directly opposite us is the historic east pier which was built especially for the arrival of Queen Victoria in 1900. Around the corner is the National Maritime Museum and the James Joyce Tower made famous by Ulysses is just a 5-minute walk away. If you fancy a dip, we'll supply you with towels for a visit to the well known swimming spot, the 40 foot (beware of the seals!). In the hotel lobby you can kick back with a coffee or sip cool cocktails in our new Lobby Bar or you might like to dine in Oliveto, our popular Italian restaurant with an amazing view (booking highly recommended). There's also two unique events spaces: The Library Bar and Oak Room, and a buzzy garden overlooking the sea complete with a Hut Bar. We look forward to welcoming you to The Haddington. ... more   less
