Great location. Friendly staff. Good size Room and nice and warm. Had a great View of the street and river but initially my tv and phone was not working so they had to move me which I appreciated I enjoyed breakfast but my stay in glean was too short. Construction taking place at the hotel.Loud noise from drilling ten o'clock until 6 o'clock .Hotel to be avoided at all costs.This hotel should be closed while renovations taking place.Customers should be told about noise when making their booking.

I have personally stayed at this property on about four occasions over the last 35 plus years. My daughter and I had a wonderful stay here just nine months ago. This stay, as the hotel is remodeling and transitioning to a “ Leonardo”, has been very disappointing. As the young maintenance worker who came to “fix” our tv and change our sheets indicated: “everyone is new and they don’t care.” Well, that was pretty obvious. We put in a request at 7:00 a.m. to have our room serviced and the tv fixed. When I went back to the room after 7:00 p.m., nothing had been done. I had to call the front desk and that is when the young maintenance worker came up. He did change the sheets but the tv was not fixed. We had to put in an additional request for towels. The next morning, we again requested that our tv be fixed. An older maintenance guy said it couldn’t be done because he would have to go into the attic, etc, etc., excuses, excuses. We tried to get dinner in the hotel “restaurant” but could not as there was no chef working that evening. If a property is accepting money from guests to provide certain services, those services should be provided. The employees need a major attitude adjustment. The pros: remodeled rooms look nice although narrower than before. The Breakfast is delicious. The location is great,…

Spent an overnight here recently – bought the deal online with pigsback.com and it was for bed and breakfast and a bottle of Prosecco, including a late checkout. There’s parking in the hi-rise beside the hotel, with a special 24-hour rate of €10 for hotel guests. All you do is have your parking ticket validated when checking out and then pay the €10 at the machine in the parking foyer. Quite a bit of refurbishment has been carried out here since we last stayed in 2016 and it is ongoing at the minute. We got a room overlooking the river – it had a double and a single bed, and despite it being a room suitable for three people, there was only one chair! This is a very common occurrence with hotels, and I really wish they wouldn’t do it. The room was large and comfortable, lovely large flat screen tv, extra towels etc, and a small fridge for keeping drinks or water cool, if you wish. Again, the bathroom was stocked with only enough toiletries for 1 person – good job we came equipped! Sleep quality was very good, and breakfast was just about ok. The orange juice was extremely weak and we felt it had been watered down to within an inch of its life – we just couldn’t drink it. All breakfast items are self-service, but why is the bread for the toaster down at the other side of the room where the cereals are? We heard many guests pass comment on how ridiculous this was. No plates beside the toaster either …. Hello? … people will usually be carrying hot toast from the toaster!! Having said all that, Galway is a vibrant city, a great place to visit, and literally everything is within walking distance. You can go for a ramble to the Claddagh, along the Spanish arch, stop off at the museum – or ramble up alongside the Corrib towards the Cathedral, a photographer’s paradise!…
