Great location just outside of downtown so easy walking distance to restaurants and the sites of Galway but still a peaceful location. Our room overlooked the salmon weir so we slept to the sound of cascading water. Breakfast was excellent - yummy scones. Great service as well.

An atmospheric, cosy and welcoming B&B. The breakfasts were magnificent and hearty, setting us up to explore the gorgeous town of Galway. It's only a short walk to the town centre. The view over the Salmon Weir is stunning - and at night, we fell asleep to the calming white noise of its torrent of water. The rooms are charmingly decorated and comfortable, the bathroom modern and the bedding luxurious. I couldn't recommend Corrib House more heartily.

We were in Galway for one night only, but everything about this B&B was first rate. Our room was charming and beautifully decorated. We also appreciated the thoughtful amenities -- tea, bottled water, welcome binder. The meals were delicious. Thank you Nicole and all the staff for a wonderful visit and the brown bread! We are a couple that booked the Angler's Rest. I was a bit concerned that, given the age of the establishment, we'd hear all the guests mulling about. However, it was very quiet and easy to rest. Our bed was comfortable. We always had hot water when needed. Our room had fresh baked cookies daily. The staff were excellent. I really enjoyed how we'd notify them ahead of time of our breakfast selection. We'd always eat viewing the River Corrib. The breakfasts were great! I felt spoiled because most other places are offering a traditional Irish breakfast - but Corrib house offered that and such a great variety. I also recommend trying their brunch/lunch as well - as they use fresh, local, and seasonal items. There's not much to be done -but as an American - driving is always tricky and Galway was quite busy. Just note that you'll be encouraged to park near the Cathedral. It was $6.5 a day (Euros) and easy to take care of. When we come back - we will definitely stay at Corrib house.

Given all the great reviews this place has had, we had high expectations of a great visit. Sadly, they were not met. I am not saying we had major complaints, but there were no great plusses either and we left disappointed. We booked the Riverside Suite which was expensive and we were expecting some degree of luxury. The suite was frankly rather plain and could do with refurbishment. The room was cold when we arrived , and later when we returned from days out, and took about an hour to heat up with the heater provided. There was no hot water for a shower on one of the three nights. More importantly than these minor criticisms we did not receive the kind of welcome and attention that you get in the top B and Bs. On arrival we were given a town map, what turned out to be incorrect information about parking costs right outside the house and a room key and that was that. No real effort then or later to make our stay special . This seems in contrast to others so maybe we were unlucky but it was not a memorable experience and we will not be returning.

The staff at Corrib House was so helpful and welcoming, offering us tea upon arrival and leaving a sweet treat and card in our room on my birthday! The breakfast was phenomenal, and I appreciated that healthy options were on the menu. The view from the Angler's Rest room cannot be beat. The Corrib House is very conveniently located, yet away from the noise of Galway City. Highly recommended!

All we can say is WOW. The Corrib House was amazing. We had the best time, welcomed by the best staff. Klaudia and Leah were incredible gals that made us feel so welcome. We stayed in the Salmon Weir room and it was the most lovely, quaint room with the best view of the river. It was quiet, romantic and beautifully decorated. Our favorite place we stayed on our 10 day Ireland trip. We wish we had more days here. It was so worth the price.
