After staying in B & B's on our entire trip, it was clear that a Guest House is very different as this was more like a hotel. It was loud and difficult to sleep as my bed was extremely uncomfortable. Overall the property was dreary.

We drove in from Dublin and arrived in the evening- our room was large, comfortable and clean, although the bathroom was very small it was more than adequate. Had read other reviews regarding unfriendly staff and noise but neither of these were issues for us. Our room was very close to reception but had a solid door between it and...

Stayed in 'The Rise Guesthouse' for three nights. On first impressions it looked good with the room I was given been clean but extremely small. The only window in the room was a velux window which was directly over the bed. The blind that was on the velux window was worn and the sun was coming in to the room...

The rooms are clean and location is nice although far from the center (but that's up to visitors to check location before visiting and their are buses anyway, otherwise 30 min walk to/from the center or bus stations). A walk straight down of the hill allows you to see nice houses and then leads to a nice walk next to...

The person who greeted us was very friendly. The room was about what we expected for the price - comfortable no-frills. We were not prepared for the incredible amounts of noise, however. Right outside of our door, spoons being loudly dropped into multiple cups, loud conversations, stomping feet... It was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Our room was on...

The NOISE is unspeakable. From sad and happy drunk neighbours (up to 4 a.m.), then before 8 a.m. people walking around making tea and coffee (there are communal tea areas next to bedrooms). I travel a lot and have never heard anything like this. The building transmits every footstep, and every turn of a doorknob. The guests are left to...

Stayed in room on ground floor with two very comfortable double beds. Me, my partner and our son had a great time and felt totally relaxed in our room. Very close to salthill and everything it has to offer. Only thing I didn't like was breakfast was in their sister b&b and it was very salty. The host told us...

We were traveling from Dublin to Galway and wanted a nice stay. We called the service and requested availability for a 4-star, one night Saturday stay there. We received two options. The Rise and The Clybaun. Not knowing one from the other we asked specifically if there were both 4-star hotels and the representative said that they were, so, we...

+ The bedroom and the bathroom were nice. Microwave, kettle and sink in the corridor at each floor, very convenient. The Lady at the breakfast was very friendly, good advice for surfing beaches. impasse with parking. - No local on the ground floor to let your staff (we were travelling by motorbike and camping on 3 weeks) we had everything...
