"UTTERLY SHOCKING " This is what reviews are for.... On our second night the chef, when I explained that my eating preferences were vegan he offered me chicken twice! When I stood up and walked away he was joking and laughing as I walked. One other member of staff ran over to me and apologised profusely. Our first night chef was outstanding and provided one of the best meals I have had. Thank you. Our room was clean and spacious but so cold. I asked if the heating could be turned up (we came from a hot climate) and they told me to check our room again as they deemed it to be warm enough, which I did but it was still cold. Eventually they turned it up once for two hours on our 3 night stay.

Very helpful staff, good sized bedroom, nice breakfast. The hotel is in the city centre, close to everything. The room was spacious, bathroom clean nice amenities, the coffee making machine was a nice touch. I would recommend to everyone who wants a good stay for a good price.

We were on a tour with a band and Galway was our second stop. After our hotel in Killarney being 5 star we were very hopeful. Upon check in there was a homeless man begging at the front door of the hotel. The lobby was very small, dark and dated. We were assigned our room and there is one very small elevator. When we finally got to the room it was very spacious and that’s the only good thing I can say about it. It was very dirty, sheets with holes. The included breakfast was awful. You were told by the waitress to get your own silverware and coffee cups. The hot food closed whenever they wanted. Galway is such a wonderful city but DONT stay here.

Very date hotel. Needs a refurb. Restaurant & bar is nice. Special mention to Olga who looked after us on Thursday evening. The food was great. Rooms are dull and dated, floors are all uneven and you can hear absolutely every move everyone else in the hotel makes. Reception area is drab, more like a hostel. My biggest gripe though is that they don’t validate parking tickets from the Q park anymore even though it still says on the booking site that they do. Very disappointing. Cost us €24 for their false information. Have emailed them about it but I’m not holding my breath. Location is excellent but that’s it really.

Dear TessIreland79 Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on TA, we are delighted you enjoyed the food and I have passed on your kind comments to Olga, I can confirm that we have plans finalized to refurbish our ground floor and hope to commence this later this year, we are very excited for this project. I am sorry that Q park did not offer you a discount and I have addressed this with them, in the meantime we would recommend HYNES YARD car park as our prefer parking partner, thank you for bringing this to my attention, as we need to find a resolution to this. Thank you again for your feedback, and we do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Galway. Warm regards Des

Spent a comfortable 3 night stay here. The location could not be better just across the square from the station and very central for pubs and restaurants. The first impression and facade are underwhelming but the interior is attractive and charming. I had an issue on arrival and was mistakingly overcharged but the staff apologised and it was sorted out promptly. Our room was at the back of the hotel It was quiet comfortable and spacious. Didn't go for breakfast but popped next door at superman's which is cheap and not so cheerful.

Everything was great apart from the noise, you can hear people talking outside your room, floorboards creaking as they walk, my room was also right above the bottle bins but the worse part was from the music. I was on the first floor and at first I thought the music was coming from the room above but I discovered it actually came from the hotel bar downstairs, the music would go on all night past midnight. I did report this but no one got back to me. The hotel is in a great location, right next to Eyre park, breakfast was excellent, buffet breakfast with lots of choices and hot breakfast you can order, I ordered a different one each day Irish breakfast, French toasts, and eggs benedict all very nice and well presented. The room and bathroom was clean, there is a safe but it was left locked, the bathroom was nice and bright. I would stay here again if it wasnt for the music from the bar.

Dear 93yatc Thank you for your review following your stay at the Imperial Hotel Galway We are delighted with your positive feedback on our rooms and breakfast offering, however it is disappointing to read that you had some noise issue's, on investigation we can confirm that the music was coming from a near by bar, we know its not from the Hotel as we do not have music except on the premise, we have addressed this with them, my apologies for the bottle bin as this was also from our neighboring business, we have requested they not empty bottle bins pass 10pm and they have agreed to this. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back again,

Currently staying here for 4 nights. Past 3 days we have tried to turn heat down and also asked at desk 3 times and each time they said they turned it down but has remained very hot the entire stay. Tried opening the windows but then the noise of people in Eyre Square kept us awake all night. They said they would send manager to the room to fix it but obviously the heating is not working correctly as temp remains at 23 C no matter what is done. I would not recommend this hotel.

I had a fabulous stay at The Imperial Hotel. The hotel is in an excellent location right on Eyre Square. The staff were friendly and efficient and I stayed in a very comfortable room which was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was also excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel. I will be back!
