We had a very wonderful and comfy 2 nights stay here! Bed was comfy, big bathroom and shower where you can easily move around, breakfast were excellent, ample parking space! The star is definitely the host - Bernie! She was very attentive, friendly and helpful! She genuinely was interested in your day and plans and gave her helpful recommendations. (We even did her recommendation of doing the walk around the golf course across the street when we arrived!) We hand washed some of our clothes and hung them in our room … and to our surprise, when we came back for the day, they were all dry and laid on the bed! That was a special thing to do which we did not expect. (But also embarrassing as we had underwear hanging too. Lol)

I recently spent a night in the Abbey View B&B while attending a function at Glenlo Abbey. I found the staff to be professional and welcoming. My en-suite bedroom was comfortable and spacious, and I had a delicious full breakfast on the morning of my departure. I would not hesitate to recommend the Abbey View to anyone.

This review should have been made back in June/July 2012 which shows the years-long impression Bernie has left on us! This has been on my mental to-do list for too long and I finally sat down to write it when it crossed my mind today. Bernie offered an absolutely wonderful stay for our Irish honeymoon! Extremely accommodating, gave us a ride into town on a rainy day, provided ideas of where to visit on one of our unplanned days (which turned into a favorite day of random, unexpected adventure and beautiful sights!), filled us up each morning with a delicious breakfast, and even took the time to teach me how to make Irish pancakes. I make them regularly and we think back on our time in Galway fondly. We said we would be back for our 10 year anniversary and unfortunately we won't be able to make an international trip in a year, but we do plan on returning to the Bernie and the Abbey View in the future! Sorry it took so long to share our great memories, Bernie! You are an absolute delight and your B&B has a wonderful home-away-from-home feel! We hope to see you again soon! This place is amazing. The rooms are clean and tidy, with free WiFi and most with en-suite bathrooms. Breakfast was the real treat, with hot and cold options that will suit most nationalities, and the eggs and bacon in particular being stellar. There was also bread, toast, yoghurt, and fruit available. The place was also nicely (but lightly) decorated for the Christmas season. The host was the star of the show, though. Thank you Bernie for being kind, helpful, and downright excellent the whole time. Thank you for telling us about local transport, about the market in Galway, and for the constant stream of tea and coffee! Thank you for providing such a pleasant experience for all your guests, and we wish you well for the future! Best wishes Nick and Jodie.

I stayed here with four of my friends while we were on a road trip through Ireland. We had two rooms, a 2 person and a 3 person. We had an amazing experience staying here! When we arrived we were treated with tea and biscuits. I suspect the biscuits were homemade. Our host was very kind and recommended a great and convenient dinner. Bathroom was nice and clean with hot water! Beds were comfortable, clean, and pretty. Breakfast was great. She made us fresh pancakes, bacon, sausage, eggs, toast. She pus out fresh fruit, cereal and yogurt as well. Our host also offered information about some ruins we would be passing near on the next leg of our trip. We hadn’t known about them previously but ended up adding the stop to our trip! It was a great recommendation. All in all this was a great stay. The only note I have is that I needed to pay in cash the following morning. I hadn’t realized this ahead of time, but surely that could have been due to lack of reading on my part— so just be sure to have cash for your stay or make a trip to the ATM. …

Wonderful stay with Bernie. Across street from beautiful Glelo Abbey Hotel on water if you want to go for walk. Room was comfortable but favorite part was definitely hanging out with Bernie. I was expecting something average for the cheap price but this place is such a hidden gem. The home is immaculate with all the mod cons - very clean and the room was comfortable with lovely linens and plus pillows. Bernie was such a kind host - putting out coffee and biscuits in front of the open fire when you return from your day's outing. She's all about the little details - putting fresh flowers in your room, offering you an umbrella, that sort of thing. Her breakfast is top notch too! Tailor made and very fancy - 5 stars Bernie! I was so well cared for and made a new friend in Bernie - I was sad to leave! But, I'll be back! Thanks so much xx

We booked Abbey view last min. And so glad we did, we received a warm welcome from Bernie. The place was spotless and so homely how could you not feel at home. The irish breakfast was tasty and set us up for our tour of connamara which Bernie gave us directions to and pointed out some beautiful places (best part our our weeks tour ) . Stayed at abbey view for a wedding in glenlo abbey. It was perfect as it's a short walk to the abbey. Bernie the host was brilliant so friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really lovely. All in all a great place to stay for weddings etc in glenlo abbey.
