This hotel is in a great location in central Salthill, overlooking the Galway Bay - so beautiful! The Prom restaurant was lovely, food was great as was service. Rooms were spacious and clean. Definitely recommend!
Great views from the front bedrooms. The staff are friendly and helpful. Bedroom and bathroom are really nice. As we are elderly and didn’t want to drive, we were able to reach Galway from County Antrim by train and short taxi trip to the hotel. We enjoyed superb walks on the promenade and bus into Galway city centre. Look forward to next stay .
A very relaxed two days spent walking the beaches and woods around Salthill. The hotel was excellent and the food delicious (if a tad expensive). The view from our 4th floor window was outstanding. While the City of Galway was only minutes away we found much to do close to the hotel with numerous lovely beaches within a short drive.
I was disappointed with the room. Strong smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom and general ' jaded' quality to furniture ( paint chipped, chair worn) . Staff were warm and welcoming and location is fantastic but I would still look elsewhere based on the room itself.
You won’t find trained staff, beautiful food and a comfortable scenic hotel, as good as this any where else in the country. If you want a perfect experience book a stay here. The variety of the menus are perfect, breakfast was amazing, views and location was superb, Staff are the best there is, other hotel groups should send their staff here to get trained. Amazing
We stayed at Salthill for one night. Peggy was amazing and looked after us. She immediately upgraded us to a room with a view of the ocean. We got to witness an amazing sunset! Breakfast was spectacular. I would have loved to have stayed longer but we were on a timetable. There is a beautiful park directly opposite the hotel which is worth spending some time exploring.
Really lovely stay in the family room. Booked the family room for our family of two adults, child and toddler, great space. All staff we encountered were lovely, friendly and accommodating. We are in the bar bistro on first night and was really lovely and really catered for the kids too. Great location and view of the sea would love to stay again soon
We had a fabulous time in Salthill hotel. Special thanks to Peggy who helped from the time of check-in to the time we left. The personal touch made the trip for us. Every staff member was very professional and looked after us very well. The view of the bay and the mountains is beautiful. The food and service at the Prom was great. Overall thought is I hope to be back very soon. Thank you
This review is specifically directed towards the Ocean Fitness club in the Salthill Hotel, Galway. First of all, my child and I were greeted by the most friendly girl called Courtney. She was very nice. Have been to many swimming pools and never met anyone as friendly. We need more people like Courtney. Very good at her job. Keep up the good work Courtney and will definitely be back very soon. Thank you!!
My wife and I booked into this hotel for out 52nd wedding anniversary and pre-booked an anniversary package stay. Fist impressions were that the hotel needed to be refurbished on taking the elevator to the room There were painters and decorators on the 3rd floor painting the corridors and some rooms. On arrival following check in we stopped at the bar for cocktails and waited 25 minutes for an Irish coffee which wa dreadful and returned it to the bar man and he exchanged it was a glass of wine we called to and nearby pub to the hotel for drinks The package we booked was delivered to our room on our first night when I specifically requested on the second night in writing to reservations . On the second day of our stay the room was not made up following a number of requests cleaners arrived at 16,35 to make up the room we have booked the Prom restaurant for 19.30 dinner and were lead to a window table NOT DRESSED NO CUTLERY we had to ask for knives forks spoons each time food was delivered to eat it was a long meal I was also charged twice for two anniversary packages directly due to the mistakes of the reception staff delivering the package on the incorrect date. The impression this hotel gives is four * however it is a seaside front hotel not 4* service by a long shot…
