First rule for us when traveling and looking for a hotel is Location-location-location. You cant beat this location. This is a small non-brand hotel. You never know what your going to get…… This hotel had great charm. Staff was warm welcoming and helpful. The lobby is very small and modest. The front door is tucked in between shops onnthe quay. We dodnt know what to expect of our rooms. Pleasantly surprised. Rooms are small but clean comfortable and up to date No restaurant or bar. We usually look for that im a hotel. But so many options litterally right across the street or next door that was no issue We were really thrilled with this pick. Such a great location to see Galway from and anreally great place to come back to at the end of a fun night out.

Great location! The hotel staff were lovely, helpful, and kind! Cool hotel in a historic building with old world and modern charm. Walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, bars, and live music. I would recommend one of the rooms on the 3rd floor as the 2nd we were able to hear the music in the bar, unless that's something you would enjoy then it would be perfect for you. The music was good.

This hotel was so great! It was in such a good location with delicious restaurants literally right next door and everything else within walking distance! All the staff was so nice and helpful when we asked for favors/advice on things to do! I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The unique rooms were beautifully outfitted, very comfortable and so very quiet considering we were just above a bustling area of restaurants and pubs. The front desk staff were all so friendly and welcoming, would definitely stay here again!

This is a small boutique hotel, but despite its size it has everything going for it. The decor of the rooms are stylish and modern, for a small 3-star hotel I did not expect to find a nespresso machine, Dyson air fan and smart tv with netflix ready to go in the room, Beds comfy, strong water pressure from the shower, plenty of drawer space and hangers for a short stay. Lovely receptionist, she was very informative, looked after my bags after I checked out so I could go for a wander and get some lunch. My only minor criticism was I had small requests like replacement towels, replenish the hand soap dispenser and reset the safe that wasnt working, that unfortunately took a few times to get rectified. I understand it was a busy bank holiday weekend but having to ask 2 and 3 times for small things like this was a bit unfortunate. All good otherwise, fantastic location, everything you'd need just a few minutes walk away - located near the best bars and restaurants in Galway town centre having the 1520 bar attached to it had plenty of options for brunch/lunch upon check out great atmosphere outside the hotel too, plenty of footfall so a great spot for a drink and lively night out …

From the easily accessible car park, to the efficient check-in, Residence Hotel does a great job of getting you into Galway and back out to the full immersion in the trad music scene on Quay Street. The in-room experience was pleasant as well since there were two fans available. Cara at the front desk was very helpful and provided recommendations for food, sightseeing and entertainment.

My husband and I stayed here in April 2023. The staff was excellent and very helpful! Our room was clean and well maintained. It is located near a lot of great pubs and shops, as well as the Spanish arch which made it so easy for us. The hotel bar made fantastic drinks as well. Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is a small boutique hotel without a lot of bells and whistles which was fine with us. Having never been to Galway before, we chose this location due to its proximity to all of the pubs in the Latin Quarter. This was probably a mistake on our part. The hotel is situated over a pub that has live music until 2am sometimes. You will hear the music from your room. We were on the 4th floor and could hear it. The hotel does not have any air conditioning. We were there in April, and even though it was cool outside, being on the 4th floor, our room got quite warm and the windows only open a little. Parking is also not super convenient for this hotel. Parking is available in the Spanish Arch parking garage, but the elevator (lift) goes directly into the adjacent hotel (Jury's Inn) which unless you have a key card for, you cannot access. This means, unless you're incredibly lucky to obtain parking on the ground floor, you will be carrying your luggage up and down stairs. As well, the Residence Hotel does not validate parking. If I could do it over again, I would stay in the Salthill area. Despite all of this, the staff here was very helpful.…

Dear Jeremy thank you so much for the feedback as we do want every guest to have a comfortable and happy stay, It was a pleasure meeting you. Overall we hope you enjoyed your stay in Galway , on the weekends friday and saturday we do indeed have a late night bar which we do advertise . Spanish Arch car park we do validate tickets for, with a discount of €10 euro per night and we ask this on check in so i am very sorry if this was not mentioned to you , a lot of guests like this car park due to it been 2 mins away from our hotel. With the heating , we understand it can get warm so we do supply dyson fans which are placed just inside the wardrobes, the windows only open up slightly like most hotels for safety of our guests .
