Clean facility, very friendly and helpful staff made for a great stay. Only complaint was the mattress wasn't very comfortable, but that's probably more due to personal preference. I would definitely recommend this property.

Hotel's Favourite
Myself and two friends stayed for two nights in February and going forward wouldn't stay anywhere else. The room was spotless, food was excellent but above all the staff were all fantastic. They couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. Onsite parking is an extra bonus. Love The Western Hotel ❤

On the plus side: As good a location as you can get. 2 minutes walk to the center of Galway. Underground parking. Good breakfast and friendly staff. The only reason I did not give a 5 star review is we had a double room and the bed was a regular double and we had no room to move. This day and age a King or Super King should be standard. Also it has a cheap heater on the wall that clicks and creaks every time it comes on and would wake the dead. I had to turn it off.

Whilst in Galway we called in The Western to watch a couple of Manchester City games, it's the meeting place for the Manchester City Galway Supporter branch. The Guinness was good, friendly atmosphere, and after the 2nd game we ate there to, and that was good too. If you're a Blue in Galway, The Western Hotel is the place to watch City.

This hotel has free onsite parking for guests, which is easy to use. Check-in and out is always quick and simple. Bar is nice with live music on certain nights. Conveniently located near a gastro pub we love on the edge of Eyre Square. Breakfast is great, and they are flexible enough that you can get exactly what you want.

Stayed in Western Hotel just a week ago for two nights nd had a very positive experience. We had two days of hospital appointments and I asked for a nice room to which came the lovely reply "We will give you one of the nicest rooms in the hotel" which they did and this was a great start. We had a very positive experience and ate dinner in the bar both nights. Food was excellent. Breakfast was great and very reasonably priced at 12 eu and all staff were extremely pleasant. Parking is such a huge plus just off Eyre Square. The hotel seems to have got a lovely make over since I stayed there two years ago and I would highly recommend it. Thank you to alll. I will be back very soon! Mary Kearns

Drink selection where great and good Guinness . I wish I got the name of the staff that where working on Thursday 19th but it was 2 guys and a girl. I will be back again. Do not miss this spot.

Rowena was the jewel in the crown, what an asset to the team, excellent communication skills, helpful, welcoming, friendly and informative. The apartment was top notch, although the couches could do with upgrading, bathrooms and bedrooms and kitchen all good, apartment excellent, great view of Eyre Sqr. and Galway Bay, will be back pg.

The staff was friendly and the bed was comfortable. The only thing that bothered me was the security of the hotel at night, and especially going there alone in the dark was scary when you're still dragging a big suitcase behind you. The Eyre square is no longer safe at night and the street leading to the hotel was also suspicious. (drunks, drugged up shouting in the street in the morning..) Of course it's not the hotel's fault, but maybe I would have felt safer if there was someone near the door guarding.
