Sheila O'Donoghue is one of a kind! The nicest lady in Kerry....and beyond. Two visiting Americans and I had an enjoyable stay from the moment we arrived. No sooner had we entered the door, she had freshly baked scones ie straight from the oven, for us with tea. She keeps a very tidy, clean and hospitable place and is proud...

We had originally booked lodging at Valley View Farmhouse. We flew into Dublin, immediately went cross-country to Galway, then down and around to Killarney, to spend three days in the mountains. Our son was minding our own home, business and animals. He was out at our house, taking care of things when the phone rang, and he answered it. He...

This BNP was a wonderful experience for us – starting with being offered tea/coffee and fresh hot scones when we arrived. Our hostess Sheila is a delightful woman with a great sense of humor and a very welcoming personality. When we asked for a "favor" for a particular type of room, she arranged exactly what we asked for. Rooms are...

Sheila O'Donoghue is the most gracious hostess. We spent two lovely nights in the wonderful farmhouse B and B. Our room was small but we had a very comfortable bed and our own bathroom. The view from our window was of the beautiful Killarney countryside. This B&B was located close to all the sites and was easy to find! Breakfast...

My husband and I have recently taken two trips to Ireland, in October of 2010 to celebrate our honeymoon, and again in October of 2011 to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary. On both of our visits to Killarney, we took a jaunting car ride through Killarney National Park, given by the O’Donoghue family at Valley View Farmhouse. Prior to our...

Our stay was delightful. Breakfast was wonderful, Sheila our hostess was sweet, very pleasant and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, not fancy. It really is a working farm. The farmhouse sits at the top of a hill with views from the front of the house looking out at the mountains. Our room faced a field where the cows were brought...

“Please know the Irish take the B & B seriously. You are a guest in their homes. You may come in a stranger, but you will part as friends. It is a very up close and personal setting; you are going to eat breakfast with, lounge around a cozy fire with them in the evening. It is not for everybody but, we enjoy this over an impersonal hotel any day. Both of these places are working farms. We have horses and other animals at home so it was very interesting for us to see how they do things.”
