Really disappointing stay- rooms not ready on arrival, food was very average and meals had to be sent back for being incorrect. Waiting ages for drinks as only one staff member seems to be allowed make the drinks while the waiting staff stand and wait. The staff are very friendly but there are clear issues with processes since reopening. I understand that reopening has been difficult for hotels and I would be the first to cut slack- but seems the same issues were highlighted in previous reviews and have still not been addressed. Despite raising these issues and a few more, there was little done by staff to make amends. Definitely not a 5star experience and left us disgusted with the amount of money spent during our stay.

On check in I was told my booking info for a Twin room wasn't transferred from the website. ( myself and my mother) We were facilitated with a Twin Room which was what I had originally booked. It took 3 phonecalls and 1.5hrs to get 2 bowls of soup to our Room. Our bathroom door broke ( understandably these things happen) Over the hour they tried to fix the door - we tried twice to order drinks to the room - the drinks never came. We were moved to another room and assured we would get a 2nd bed in the room. That sounded like a good option. At 11pm we came back to our room to find a childs camp bed in the room. When I called reception we were offered that accomodation would come and put in another bed, Because we were tired and from previous promises we were not convinced this would happen we asked could we go back to the other room with the broken toilet door at least we could get a good nights sleep, the receptionist decided to bring up that i had requested that room and that they had offered be a different room at check in ( i didn't see how bringing this up at 11.30pm was helpful and how that could sort the situation we were in) we waited for a key for the new room, no one showed we had to go back down to reception, when we met the man with the keys he apologised and said he met someone in the bar and that’s what delayed him………. exhaused, frustated and tried we fell into bed and the fire alarm went off at 03.30am just to top off our weekend, what a disastrous weekend, you couldn't have imagined the hassle, not a 5 star experience. The staff were trying to be as helpful as possible but unfortunately any of their solutions didn't materialise. Communication was obviously a problem. I did meet the Manager in charge in the morning, after initially offering a €50 discount as an insult, he then offered to pay for our dinner, and room service ( which we at that stage we just wanted to get out of there. I would not recommended staying at this hotel. The Spa was lovely and the food in the bar was nice, the concierge was as helpful as he could be. it stopped there. Not a 5 Start Hotel, Not a 5 star experience at all. A COMPLETE WASTE of €379 for bed and breakfast!!!!! – Put your money to better use. I didn't actually want to write this review as I am acutely aware of the struggles hotels are under post-covid, however upon return home I am even more frustrated at the way we were treated and what we paid for that, and I think it's only fair to give a realistic review of what our experience was.

We had a lovely 6 nights stay. Upgraded on arrival. Room was fabulous. The Lounge is a lovely relaxing area and when Maura Casey is working you feel extra special and the service is excellent! Breakfast is hit and miss - some mornings it is very good and other mornings leaves little to be desired from a five star hotel. Overall service throughout the hotel was very good and all staff were welcoming and friendly. Some attention to detail is not back to pre COVID levels that we experienced in this hotel.

No welcome. On arrival bathroom was dirty, and was cleaned when we requested it. No management came to us to apologise. Menus are incorrectly marked for gluten free. The food was low low standard with the exception of the lamb with a carrot and gnocchi. That was lovely. Breakfast was very low grade. We spent 860 euro for 2 nights bb plus one dinner. I wanted to come home day one but my husband said “stay, we’re committed now” So disappointing.

Just back from a two night family break. It was worth waiting for! After all the stress of the last year we were so looking forward to nice food, luxury and relaxation. We were not disappointed. There are some lovely changes to the decor since our last visit. Every meal we had was delicious. Maura and Luke in particular went out of their way to make our stay perfect but all the staff were extremely helpful, friendly and efficient. I had a fantastic massage at the spa also. We left the hotel planning our return. Would highly recommend.
