We have stayed in the Clayton Galway so decided to stay in the Limerick hotel. As always the staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our visit, nothing is too much trouble.
The hotel has good levels of Covid precautions in place, masks in public areas, hand sanitizers and breakfast and dinner by booking only. The rooms are cleaned and sealed prior to each visit and can be serviced daily if you make a request and if you have all personal belongings cleared away.
The breakfast is table service with a good range of both cooked and continental options. I chose granola and the waiter very thoughtfully bought a yoghurt in case I preferred yoghurt to milk.
We paid extra for a room with a river view and it was definitely worth it, the window curved around the entire room with great river views and the walk to King John’s Castle.
The hotel is well situated for the city , the castle and museums.
Our only small niggles with the room were the safe us so small we couldn’t get our IPads to fit in and there is very little hanging or shelf storage.

My second night away in the first week when hotels reopened after lockdown. Things are a bit quieter than they would normally be which on hand makes getting served etc means no queues but on the other hand lacks that buzz it would usually have. There’s a few differences with staff using shields and masks but otherwise fairly normal. The rooms have a cleaned seal across the door which adds a level of confidence. Room was grand and the stay was fine. Breakfast was a table service affair which I always prefer to the “ kept warm” buffet that used to be the norm. My only comments on the minus side would be that I would have expected that when the hotel was locked up for several months I would perhaps expected that during that time would have been a good opportunity to do some basic housekeeping and maintenance. Doors, corners of walls and skirting boards all suffer from guests having wayward suitcases and end up marked, scored and chipped. On the floor I was on there was some marks and scuffs- not a big deal a I know but the attention to these small details raises the standards that little bit. The Waterfront restaurant has a large panoramic view of the river, though a bit gray this morning, the outside of the windows hadn’t been cleaned for sometime judging by the cobwebs on the frames. Nitpicking perhaps and didn’t distract from what felt like a clean and healthy place to stay. The hotels location makes a walk into town easy though the buildings in the immediate surroundings of the hotel are a little untidy.

Recently stayed here with a couple of friends. The hotel was so easy to find, it’s in a great location and the car park is directly across from the hotel entrance. The hotel has a warm, welcoming feeling when you walk through the doors. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist (didn’t catch her name) who promptly checked us in and was happy to provide recommendations in the area.
Our room was on the 14th floor which had fabulous views over the river Shannon and the city. The room itself was spotless and was spacious enough for 3 people with 3 single beds and a good sized bathroom.
We had a quick bite to eat in the bar before heading into town for the evening. The wings were amazing!! Service was quick and staff were very pleasant.
We had breakfast the next morning and despite a little bit of wait to order, everything was spot on once our food arrived, we had plenty to eat and a great selection to choose from.
Thanks Darren and staff for a lovely stay. I would definitely return and would highly recommend.

Room was available at 1pm on the August Bank Holiday weekend, which was great given check in wasn’t until 3pm. Receptionist was very pleasant and welcoming.

King Room was relatively clean and modern. Had to order extra towels as only 1 large towel was in the room for my partner and I and a new set of pillows as mine were slightly dirty. King bed has to be one of the comfiest beds we have ever slept on and very spacious.

Parking was available at a preferential rate (€8.50 p/n) for residents, it would be better if the hotel covered this.

Click and collect service worked relatively well although the hotel didn’t enforce mask waring and good few residents were walking without masks to do shots at the bar and walking throughout the hotel. This was families (adults 18+) who I’m sure don’t all have conditions that stop them from wearing masks.

Breakfast seemed understaffed and not controlled in terms of reservations as we had to wait 15minutes for a table that was empty in front of us the whole time. Kind of defeats the purpose of making a booking.

Pool - was slightly disappointing as it very small and should be limited to 2 groups as there were different families while we attended and there was very little room to do any swimming.

Decent chain hotel in a great location but you do pay extra for parking in the multi storey next door

Popular hotel on the Shannon River at the far end of the centre of town. A tall hotel & I guess you would be unlucky to get no view

Large comfortable rooms, bed & bathroom. Ate well enough in the restaurant one evening though a lot of the tables have sofa chairs- probs not great to bring an elderly aunt with dippy knees.

Opted to eat out for breakfast but if you do that you may have a bit of a walk to find something nice but on the other hand was very close to Donals bar where I bought tickets & saw a great evening jazz band

Nice swimming pool (head caps a must) but an odd shape so not brilliant if you want to do laps.

I was happy with the value for money over 2 nights even though I was staying a Saturday with a big rugby match in town which meant a big price premium offset by a cheaper Sunday night

Have stayed twice previously at this hotel, good location and nice comfy bed. The room is a decent size with lovely views of the Shannon and lots of natural light.

Lovely breakfast the following morning, however after being only offered 2 choices of times 7.50 and 8.10 for breakfast on the website , we contacted chat support on the website and they were able to move us to 9.45.

TV did not work during our stay, and when mentioned at check out, the receptionist informed us this was due to the storm a few days previously and they were working on fixing it. Our phone did not work either which we also mentioned on check out. We also tried to order extra pillows for the room on the website but had to ring reception from our mobile phone as they did not arrive.

This hotel has so much to offer. An excellent location on the banks of the magnificent River Shannon, super views, close to the city centre and staff genuinely interested in your comfort. But simple attention to detail can let all this positivity down. Please, please, please remove left over food from public areas. Arrival and checkout images of the same trash, not acceptable for any hotel irrespective of its star rating.

Stayed here in a mini break this week. Ireland’s tallest hotel was lovely as were the views from our 14th floor room. Sarah in reception kindly offered to walk the stairs with a young kid who’s not great in elevators but with her encouragement he got In the elevator Repeatedly (Thank goodness) . Our rate was room only and we had breakfast there on first morning. Didn’t get off to a good start when we asked about gluten free options and were advised that all bran was available!! There seemed to be Inconsistencies in how things were done .. so possibly needs training but the food and beverage staff were working very hard. In our opinion breakfast was not worth the price and the next few mornings we ate out for breakfast. Our room
Was sealed on arrival confirming it was cleaned but it was not serviced during our stay. We were okay with that but perhaps put out a card if the occupants need towels / tea or coffee or shampoos

On arrival the Receptionist was very pleasant , welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the King Room on the 12th floor over looking the river which was very clean, modern, the beds were very specious and comfortable. Parking was just a short walk away from the hotel and was included in the price of our stay which is excellent. There was good choice of menu for breakfast- the food was excellent, it was staffed sufficiently and very well organised. We also dinned in their restaurant, we had a riverside view and the staff were very attentive. Again I could not fault the food. Covid guidelines were adhered to by the hotel and staff at all times throughout our stay. In summary we had a nice relaxing stay and will definitely return for another stay as it is also well located in Limerick City.

I just returned from a stay in Limerick with my parents, we stayed in room 1409 and 1407. views from the room of the river Shannon are beautiful. Location of the hotel is situated just on the river ( added bonus with the outdoor seating area ) beautiful views of the river and the outdoor heaters are great for when it gets nippy, our check in experience was seamless, we selected advance check in online and the same for check out, it really speeds up the check in process. On arrival we were greeted by Declan from the front office team, He is a credit to the hotel and was so helpful friendly and chatty, we felt right at ease from the moment we arrived, we dined in restaurant and I had the buffalo wings nice hot and spicy just the way i like them, there was a lovely atmosphere in the restaurant and the restaurant team was very attentive and asked regularly if we wanted top drinks etc. Swimming pool is small but perfect, it overlooks the river. Breakfast was tasty and was served to the table. Overall great experience and I will definitely be back, well done to the team, I thought it would be a crazy hectic weekend with hotels just reopening but the hotel team were 100% ready to go and we had a great stay.
