I was a member of a delegation of Sister Cities travelers recently stayed in this quaint hotel. The big thing missing is an elevator. It's a long long trek up to the third floor. That aside, the staff is very accommodating and went the "extra mile" for us. There was a night or so of teen disco that disturbed some...

Ok, the good points first, its central, the family room allowed us to stay with 3 kids, the staff are friendly and unlike others even the cooked breakfast was tasty, albeit served in a dark function room. The bad ? its old, dark and musty, the room wasnt great, i paid 80e inc breakfast, all in all i didnt think...

The Welcome Inn is a family run, friendly hotel that never fails to please. I return to Castlebar every year on holidays and always pay a visit. I highly recommend Sunday lunch, great with kids. Relaxed atmosphere and the staff are so helpful and accomadating. The servings are very generous. Ann McHugh and her staff make this hotel the best...

From the second we walked in we felt at home. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the rooms were lovely. The food however was outstanding. I cannot praise the food in the restaurant enough.. from dinner to breakfast everything was beautiful. I will definatly stay again.

Spent approx 5 weeks at this hotel while working near-by. Clean rooms, friendly staff, good value. While I was there for work, this hotel would make a good touring base. Reasonable food available in the bar each evening as well as in the restaurant. Free parking near-by, but you need a permit from the hotel. Quick note of caution, they...

My husband and I stayed at The Welcome Inn when touring Ireland. Walking in, my first thoughts were cute old world hotel. Too bad we didn't know where we would land on that evening, I might very well have been more comfortable sleeping in the car. Granted, they only had a room with 2 twin beds available. We survived that....

Stayed June 2012 for one night while driving through. I got what i paid for, which was out dated rooms that really need a reno, a window that overlooked a parking lot with a generator going on and off all night. On the flip side, the staff was superbe, helpful and friendly.
