Things have changed around here now that Susan and her family have moved in to some of the rooms, but I think it's still an amazing place to stay and such great value! The rooms are clean, there's still plenty of space in the lounge to enjoy the...

Lovely hostel, can't say enough about the staff who were very welcoming and interested in the travellers visiting. Plenty of showers/toilets and very comfortable beds. Even the 10 bed dorm has loads of storage space and doesn't feel cluttered. The common rooms (separate dining and sitting) are spacious and well equipped. Would be a fine place to spend a rainy...

I stayed in two Hostels in Westport over the weekend and Abbeywood was by far the better of the two! The bedrooms are very clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgable. The kitchen is very well equipped and breakfast was fantastic as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hostel to anybody: friends, couples, families or...

This little gem is situated right in the town of Westport. The staff were extremely friendly in a very hectic weekend. Gaelforce West was on in Westport that weekend and the town and the hostel was jammers. Rates were through the roof everywhere, yet Abbeywood were charging the standard rate. Nothing was too much trouble, ambiance was relaxed and friendly....

Stayed here with a group of friends for the Westport Festival. It was great value, friendly, very clean and there were plenty of showering and toilet facilities so never a queue! I'd recommend it to anyone who needs a nice base close to the centre if Westport.

A group of us stayed in Abbeywood for the Westport festival last weekend and had a fantastic time. Staff were so friendly, personal and very helpful. Susan was great helping sort everyone out. I wasn't well on the first day and had to come back without my friends. Aoife looked after me, made sure I was OK. Such a lovely...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for us. We are a small business and try to make it as much as possible a home away from home for our guests. It's great to hear that you enjoyed our home made brown bread. We have a lot of return visitors and they are always delighted to see...

Abbeywood gives you the best of all three...A former monastery, still retaining many of its original features such as stained glass windows, polished wood floors and high ceilings. Its situation, set in off the road in its own grounds makes it hard to believe it's so close to the centre of town. Come see us! ... more   less
