Myself and my sister took my mum here for afternoon tea the day before Mother's Day. We enjoyed the food and had a lovely time but have to say we were slightly disappointed with the service. We had to wait over half an hour for drinks to arrive and then had to ask again for them by going up to...

I stayed here as part of my birthday surprises with my mum and 3 friends. We used the restaurant, spa and had a girls night in package and I wasn't disappointed with any of it! If you're looking for a modern hotel, this is definitely not it but it's got lots of character and is comfy and clean. The spa...

Sorry but it's not good Stayed as part of a business group. In general it appears tired with with tatty carpets and flaking paint throughout the hotel. Beds are comfortable and clean. Bathroom is ok but a bit of mould in places on the tiles (not to bad and I've seen worse). Carpet in the room looked ok until i...

So much better than an anonymous and soulless business hotel. Rooms spacious, clean and well decorated if you don't mind some old (but perfectly functional) furniture; it adds to the character. Delightful grounds, old-fashioned English ambience without any hint of Basil Fawlty and an excellent price combine to make it great value for money. The pleasant staff responded to requests...

The cook needs training or firing because their can't be a chef. Breakfast was poor with hard fried bread over cooked bacon and sausage and a...

Disastrous Stay! No Management on site during the weekend to raise concerns to instead it had to be put in writing after the weekend! They took full payment at time of booking. Do not waste your money. There are much better hotels in Southampton to stay. The hotel does not care about their guests! Below is an outline of the...

We took friends to celebrate a special birthday. We were taken through to the cocktail bar where a family afternoon tea was taking place. The waiter seemed doubtful that we could have decaff tea but after a very short wait he returned with a pot of regular breakfast tea and another of decaff. Phew. Despite the booking having been made...

Could be amazing if had a few million spent on it! Beautiful building but everything is very old and in need of upgrading desperately! Staff very accommodating but the state of disrepair overwhelms the whole feel of the hotel! Suited us for one night but would not have liked it for any longer!

We visited the Spa for a Valentines couples Mud Rasul. On exiting the main hotel lobby and making our way through the garden to the spa entrance we both noticed how tired the place looked. Dirty windows, rust, and generally in need of a good tidy up. We were greeted in Spa reception by the lovely Laura, who was wonderful...

This hotel is absolutely worth the visit. Old and classy and very nice. Rooms are nice and clean. The restaurant is nice and the staff are very friendly. In addition, this is a spa hotel so here you can definitive combine business and pleasure.
