Called in following a recommendation from a friend for a meal, and was greeted by a friendly staff member who took the order, for 2 roast dinners as we had seen others come out and looked good. When they arrived the roast beef was full of fat, and all the vegetables tasted the same bland taste, as did the Gravy,...

My wife, son and I visited the Oak Wheel last week. This is a traditional gastro pub, with good decor and atmosphere. Nice, but no better than any other similar pub. When we arrived, it was obvious that they where short staffed because whilst ordering our drinks at the bar, the young lady serving us disappeared to answer the phone,...

The Punch and Judy room was comfortable and very clean. We both slept very well. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Evening meals are delicious. Breakfast was very good apart from mushrooms being only just warm.

I booked for a party of 19. They did a special menu for us and nothing was too much trouble, even when I phoned up the day before to say one of the group was a celiac. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for our special lunch. 12/10 for service and effort.

Our girlie group had a brilliant night here 16/12/2016. The food was excellent and plentiful, service with a smile and nothing was too much trouble from the staff. The decor and atmosphere are very welcoming, the log fire made it really Christmassy! I would highly recommend The Oakwheel to anyone, especially families looking for good home cooked food. I'm definitely...

My wife and I had a delightful experience yesterday evening in front of a open log fire. The food was excellent. We had starters; one of goats cheese; and the other a caesar salad. Our main courses were; one of steak and ale pie; and the other lamb rump. All the food was of good quality and generous in their...
