Spent the weekend at a conference. The rooms were a pleasant surprise after the appearance of the landings and corridors. The hotel is quite tired but it must be quite a difficult task keeping on top of such a large hotel. This is a period hotel with lots of original fittings, however it is quite tired. The breakfast is of...

We got an afternoon tea voucher as a present and having been on a number of afternoon teas in the past was disappointed with the service as well as the actual food provided. After placing our order we were not attended to once and had to go up to the bar area to ask for a refill or milk and...

Stayed one night on a Thursday evening. I would describe the hotel as tired, outdated and would be better suited to the "older" guest. Our room was an upgrade room but we had no chocolates or bathrobes. Did have two very small bottles of water. Very dated black wood furniture, dusty and cleaned to the bare minimum. Table light bulbs...

The history being Agatha Christie's mysterious disappearance in 1926. The Old Swan is where she was found. And the hotel dates back to 1777. The hotel has charm and interesting features, the 1920's-style lift being just one. My room was spacious with a modern bathroom. Whilst parts of the hotel would benefit from an update (aspects of the decor) I...

From the outside an impressive looking Hotel and on entering is grand looking but now feels a little dated. Our room was at the rear of the hotel and was nice and roomy although the bathroom and shower was very small which to be honest wasn't an issue. The problem was at night. I was woken up twice on both...

Check in easy. Room on small side with a very sloping floor even in bathroom. Had to have our evening meal in the bar as we had theatre tickets and restaurant didnt open till 630. Seating in bar were mainly chesterfield type sofas with coffee tables not really ideal to eat a 3 course meal, it was very busy as...

I stayed at this hotel for the night with a friend while visiting Harrogate. The hotel itself is in a lovely location literally a two minute walk from the centre of the town. It has free on sight parking and when you check in you get a parking permit to put in your car. Inside the hotel it could do...

Booked a suite as felt would get the best of the hotel. The bathroom had freestanding bath with shower over it. Tricky to shower without hair getting wet. However the bath was fine and water was hot. The rooms were cold on arrival, but after asking for a heater (and chasing up 3 hours later with housekeeper as receptionist hadn't...

We booked with a groupon for 3nights. We asked for a twin room which was great. Continental style 2mattresses. Large room, entrance lobby with refurbed bathroom. Excellent shower. Coffee and tea biscuits etc. And a teapot. We were at the back which was very quiet. Great fun finding different routes to our room. Food and staff very good. Just make...
