We checked in Friday 22nd for my partner’s Birthday , great location and we could park outside the Hotel for £12 per night, this is where it started to look great until we got to check in, to be greeted by three receptionists, the two sat down at the counter started to play I think a game ? The game was your turn, no your turn , no go on your turn , no it’s your turn !! eventually they stopped this game and the male receptionist said ok I’ll check you in ! ok got checked in at last phew!! booked into room 402, looked ok, nice clean tidy, modern bathroom so yes all seemed not too bad ! whilst my partner decided she needed to curl her hair some more I as you do decided to go to the bar Cus these things can take quite some time ! Maybe chance for even two pints if I’m lucky :) getting served for my first was quite easy, after all there were around 6 people sat down with about 4-5 bar staff, but trying to get the 2nd proved quite a challenge ! eventually when Paula arrived it got even more frustrating, lots of staff chatting around the bar, and after waving like a windmill we gave up and decided to go up to ask to be served, after that we were convinced it would be less stressful to go to a bar where the attention to customers was more important. had a great night in Harrogate and returned to the hotel around midnight ! got to the room and retired for the night ! Wish I hadn’t bothered we were woken by next the next room to ours at around 1.30 am sounded like there were having a girly party , sounded fun, but the problem wasn’t them , it was the quality of soundproof between the rooms it sounded like they were in the same room , we couldn’t sleep until around 3am when they must of gone to bed thank god. We eventually got off to sleep and boom !! at 6.30 the room above woke up snd started charting, again not sure how many were in that room! but it was like they are in the same room , there must be no insulation whatsoever between all the walls and ceiling ! What more can I say , great great location , very pretty hotel, let down by its employees and poor sound proofing, would I stay again I’m sorry to say no I won’t which is a real shame !

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We have a very friendly team who are regularly praised as you can see in our previous reviews. I can only pressume that if this did occur upon your arrival it was merely some light hearted banter, I am sure no offence was meant ( perhaps on this occasion they misjudged their audience for which I apologise) I am confidient this minor joke will not have delayed your check in for more than a few seconds. As a hotel we do hope that all our guests will be courteous and respectful of each other sadly this is sometimes out of our control. We do however have a 24 hour reception team who are just a phone call away and will happily step in should a room become disruptive to other guests. We are sorry to hear you will not return. Best Wishes, The Yorkshire Team

Hotel's Favourite
Just got back from a bank holiday weekend away. Never stayed here before so was really looking forward to trying a different hotel, we wasn’t disappointed, it’s a beautiful building. Check in was so quick and easy, the reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Our room was overlooking the front with lovely views and one of them being Bettys tea rooms, bedroom was very well maintained and clean, bed was very very comfortable, bathroom was very modern and spotless. Had a delicious full English breakfast that was served by very good looking suited and booted gents. Communal areas very well kept with plenty of hand sanitiser throughout. Excellent choice of hotel and is a must if you’re staying in Harrogate.

Dear Sparkling20! Thank you so much for your lovely review, we are so pleased that you enjoyed your bank holiday stay with us! I could not agree more, our building is one impressive and gorgeous one, having been standing for over 200 years at the center of Harrogate. We purchased the hotel at the back end of 2017 and our aim is to give it back its former glory! Happy to hear that our lovely suited and booted gents helped you enjoy your breakfast ;) We shall hope to see you again at The Yorkshire Hotel - do make sure to call us directly on your next visit so we can get you the best rate. Best wishes from all of us at The Yorkshire!

Brilliantly located in the centre of Harrogate, this hotel is worth staying in when visiting. It is about 75 yards from the famous Betty’s Tea Room, you can see the queue from the front door. Firstly there is parking at the front of the hotel at a cost of £12 overnight, piece of advice, checkout is 11am so we arrived around that time to find empty spaces. Check in is 3pm, but at least if you can park at 11am, go in and pay then you can go and enjoy your day. It is very central and behind the hotel is a small street with bars and restaurants which have a very nice atmosphere. The room was very comfortable, large bed, swish shower, but don’t expect great views from all rooms. We were room only, considered the breakfast, however at £12plus each we went to Wetherspoons about 200 yards away to have breakfast for less than £10. A bit more competitively priced offering at the hotel would be more tempting. The staff were very friendly and helpful, so if we were coming this way again we would be happy to book in again.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent experience with us. Firstly thank you for mentioning our amazing location, we are happy to hear you took full advantage of all our local bars and restaurants. Our car parking is indeed very limited so the earlier you can get parked up with us gives you a much better chance of gaining a spot. If you cannot get parked with us we highly recommend West Park Multi Storey. For our fabulous Stray views we do recommend booking our Deluxe Double rooms however if you have any further preferences in future please do not hetsiate to call us prior to arrival. Best Wishes, The Yorkshire Team

The hotel was lovely and the staff was very friendly. Taking into account the COVID policy of not servicing the rooms during your stay meaning you have to go to reception to get new linens or supplies, what was left of the remaining service was very good. Where I have not been able to give 5 stars it is because I felt that the breakfast was a little limited, it was either prepacked cereal or a cooked breakfast, there was no obvious option for non fried eggs, and the serving area seemed very cramped meaning there was a lot of potential for cross contamination. On the last morning we stayed they brought out a 'special' of pancakes , bacon and syrup, which was fabulous. Another reason for the 4 stars is the hotel bar's insistence on throwing the empty bottles into bins in the cobbled street at the rear of the hotel every night at about 1am, and then wheel the full bins around for a bit, before they were collected at 6am, which resulted in a timely wake up call to the sounds of breaking bottles. I am sure if you get a room at the front of the hotel this would not be a problem.

Chris the mixologist (and hero), give this guy a payrise. Unbelievable cocktails. Never met a better guy who knows more about drinks and serves just the best cocktails. Gary behind the bar, cracking beard a drinks wizard. New cocktail hotspot. 🍸
