On the plus side, it is located within walking distance to the town centre - lots of places to drink and eat, good shops and a friendly pleasant atmosphere. Staff at the Stuart Hotel were really friendly and helpful and rooms were comfortable enough if a bit basic and in need of some renovation. We ate in the hotel restaurant...

Central location, comfortable rooms, first class staff and excellent food at breakfast, dinner or in your room, as you would expect from any good hotel. My advice is book early as they do get very busy during the week and I should know having stayed there three to four nights a week for over twelve months.

Second time in 8 years I've stayed here and it's still no better. Most of the staff are really really helpful and I really feel for them because they get some real stick because of the minority of staff members who let them down. Firstly certain nights do not run smoothly in the bar and the restaurant then the following...

I have stayed here on business travel several times and found it to be adequate, mainly due to its proximity to where my meetings were to be held. It is around 10 minutes walk with luggage from the station and the city centre. The bedrooms are on two floors with a series of corridors forming a horseshoe shape. The rooms...

Second stay in central Derby and tried to get nearer the shopping centre. Good safe free parking and nice clean room very near to main shopping precinct therefore recommended for elderly and disabled not withstanding able bodied. The corridor had obviously been re painted and we had a bit of a trek to the room on 3rd floor- No lift...

Stayed at the Stuart purely on the offchance, as a friend of my wife's had a Groupon voucher for a Saturday night she couldnt use. The hotel is on the edge of the city, about a two minute walk from the shopping centre with plenty of free parking. The hotel is basically a old victorian house which has been extended...

this hotel is about a 5 minute walk from Derby railway station and is then about a 5 minute walk into the centre of the city and it's amazing shopping centre (Intu) The hotel is traditionally comfortable - it has a bar and a decent restaurant. I had booked a single room - I was given a double. The room...

Stayed for one night rooms are basic and ours was extremely hot in the night which was a downside as the window obviously for safety reasons did not open very wide. The reason giving the hotel a 4 star rating was the breakfast which was a real bonus. Not only could if you choose the full English you could also...

This was not best experience of a hotel stay. The rooms were not very big and the furniture was worn and stained. It felt like it had not been cleaned properly with dust and dirt around the place. Breakfast was good however it is hard to get served as the staffing levels are poor. One morning we didn't get served...

Fabulous. Clean comfortable rooms staff friendly and bent over backwards and food and bar was great. A lovely relaxing atmosphere. We met some lovely people also staying at the hotel who we are still in touch with. We recommend The Stuart Hotel 100%,
