Stayed over for only 1 night but it was a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is full of warmth and a cosy, welcoming charm. I was offered an upgrade for breakfast on check in which I didn't take as I was out early in the morning and wouldn't have time but appreciated...

The place is a bit run down, but you could say that's character as it is a georgian building. We had an evening meal which was nice and reasonably priced, good selection of real ales and own brewery on site so definite plus. However, the room was a bit tired with all be it a four poster of sorts squeezed...

Very dirty ! Shower hose full of black dirt . Couldn't have a shower in case I caught something. Dust all over room mirrors not cleaned . Couldn't get wifi . Bed spreads needed to see an iron. Food very poor quality and poorly cooked.

I stayed here for 1 night while on a business trip. The hotel is very olde worlde, a gem of the Georgian era with winding corridors and dark wood panelling. The bedroom was homely and full of original features, with free tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bottled water which was a nice thought and much appreciated. Dinner in the restaurant...

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in Mr Gandys the first night and the food was excellent quality and amazing value for money. The breakfast was nice too. The hotel itself is over 200 years old. Its not a modern hotel its got lots of...

The Hotel is in a charming Georgian building with friendly and attentive staff. A bus route passes the door, or a 10-15 minute walk takes you to the city centre with plenty of cafés and restaurants on the way. Unfortunately the room we were allocated was in some sort of annexe to the main building. It's four poster bed and...

Once again, Ray and his team pulled the rabbit out of the hat and provided a memorable evening for me and my Royal Navy buddies (and our fantastic wives) for our 40th anniversary event. Food and the function room was great, the staff were brilliant!!!! The only slightly negative feedback I would give is for the owners who should think...

We stayed over night in this beautiful hotel. What a bonus that there was a pub attached to this independent hotel and not a chain, even had its own micro brewery. Wasn't starving so ordered the combo meal to share with my wife but was so surprised at the size of the plate, it was enormous, half a chicken instead...
