Recently stayed here for a 40th birthday- great service from start to finish. Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Good food in the restaurant and comfortable bedrooms. Ideal for a couples visit or a celebration. Would definitely recommend a walk around the village, cup of tea in the library and a chat with the owners! Being family run makes it extra...

Lovely afternoon spent in front of the fire in the library, devouring a variety of finger sandwiches, scrumptious cakes, scones with clotted cream and jam, copious tea and coffee with a friend. What more could any one ask for! Oops forgot to mention the Prosseco! Staff were inconspicuous and left us alone for a girly chat. I would definitely book...

The room was fine but the left side of the bed had a large lump in the mattress which was most uncomfortable. The restaurant - in the evening and at breakfast some of the cutlery and glasses on our table were extremely dirty and several cereal bowls had to be moved before a clean one was found it was as...

In the Autumn last year, we described the wedding we wanted and Alix and Anne were immediately onside. We booked for 18th Feb 2017, and from then on, their planning and ideas confirmed that we were in safe hands. We booked all bedrooms for our guests, and the ceremony was held on onsite. Anne was running the show, and thanks...

Decided to surprise my other half with an overnight stay. With limited time to travel. What could be easier than an establishment which was less than 20 minutes from where we live. Booked the Dinner , B&B option. From the minute we arrived we felt totally at ease and relaxed. Dinner was a delight. Interesting menu to choose from. The wine...

We found the general décor throughout the hotel dated. The staff at dinner were not very friendly The meals were expensive for what we got the suite we had dinner in on Saturday night was cold and lacked atmosphere. Given that we were a party of 16 for the long weekend stay, when we were 5 mins late for breakfast...

This is a charming and comfortable country retreat and I had a perfectly pleasant overnight stay with friends but it is slightly rough around the edges – nothing too major but with standard rooms from £110 it does need to up its game. My room, while really comfortable and cozy, needs a little care and attention as does the bathroom,...

We stayed here for two nights for a weekend birthday bash with about 20 other people. We had two fab meals in the evening in the conservatory and the first floor function room (the food was pre-ordered).Check out their local English white wine,Cuvee Alix, grown in their own vineyard; it really was a revelation. In the morning the choice for...

Stayed the night for the first time, in a lovely room with a lovely view but the breakfast was a bit naff! Lovely conservatory but not much personality from the server and a watery full English breakfast. Not large in quantity and have had better at a greasy spoon.
