I arrived at 12.30 for a meeting to an unmanned reception desk. Three separate members of staff walked straight passed me. When I had found someone and taken my seat I then went to the bar to get a coffee. I waited 20 minutes while one member of staff ran in and out delivering previous orders without acknowledging the three...

We needed a very brief overnight stay - arrived at this HI at 1a.m and had to leave by 8a.m. Check-in was quick and the room fine and quiet, despite being near the car park. Showers, bed etc all good. The room rate was very good - £76 via Booking.com when the rack rate was £100-£170. They made it all...

Don't expect luxury from this Hotel. It's low ceilings in the room are claustrophobic, most rooms are ground floor with views of the car park. Noises from other rooms can be heard, doors closing, plumbing sounds, footsteps etc. My first impression when walking into this Hotel was the smell that reminded me of the inside of a musty old caravan....

Reception is quite ok, bar and personnel there are fine as well. My room was noisy, time ago someone pulled out a refrigerator, but space there is still empty... Light lit under the door all the night...and spider on picture in the morning. Breakfast, the worst. Food itself was qiute ok, but two ladies - waitress shouted over room discussing...

From the moment the hotel had received our initial deposit, it seemed all was going smoothly, the correspondence between myself and the hotel Events Co Coordinator was timely and consistent, and it needed to be as we live 300 miles away in Cumbria, so it was made clear from the start to the hotel teams that phone calls and email...

It is always very disappointing to read, as a hotelier, that someone’s special day did not go at all to plan or as smoothly as promised. The team are very upset not to have provided the perfect day. We strongly believe TripAdvisor is a great tool for potential guests to get balanced and unfiltered feedback on the service in a...

I have only really visited Holiday Inn's in the USA and aware that there customer services is generally better/more part of the psyche however pleasantly surprised by a visit to Holiday Inn in the UK. I visited due to being on a 2 day training here over a Sunday and Monday. Staff were generally pleasant. Had dinner on the Sunday...

I stayed here after a visit to the Bombay sapphire distillery which was great fun. It was a 20 minutes walk from the train station. Check in was efficient and friendly, they recognised PC status and I comped a drink. It is a typical HI and a flower of 70s architecture so don't expect an intercontinental. The rooms were a...

The staff here are really lovely, rooms are quite small and bathrooms could do with a good clean! My bed was incredibly lumpy, springs felt like they were digging in my back. If you stay on the lower floor you can hear EVERYTHING above you - talking, floor boards creaking and hair dryers were the main thing, the corridor noise...

Check in was courteous and we were soon on our way to our room which was quite acceptable but a little small. The air conditioning wasn't working and we had to sleep with the window open. It was a Saturday night and not too many guests, so not too noisy, but bed is very close to the door and as...
