What can I say,WOW!!!!!!. Absolutely fabulous, spotlessly clean, very friendly greeting on arrival. Amazing breakfast, piping hot and plenty of it. Would recommend to everyone, can't wait to go again.

Stayed with mum and daughter for a female empowerment session. Mum had just received bad news. Had a wonderful time and cannot fault the staff. They made it for us. Incredibly friendly. Great atmosphere and wine! We preordered breakfast and the eggs Benedict was gorgeous. Will definitely go back again (and again and again hopefully).

A couple of weeks ago me and a friend visited the sun hotel as we were recommended too. The staff behind the bar were lovely and the food was very good. I have not stayed at the hotel but have heard very good things.

The breakfast and evening meal we had was excellent and the staff super friendly and helpful. Only downside was the slightly noisy group of revellers who decided to have fun outside our window all night!!

I spent two nights at the Sun Hotel recently. It's centrally located in central Lancaster Downstairs the hotel boasts a restaurant bar that was comfortably busy and offered a small but tasty menu. There isn't any parking at hotel but the excellent secured parking is less than 100m away My room was clean and tidy albeit it being six flights...

I have eaten at this pub in the past and it has a nice atmosphere.I was expecting good value for money but at £14 for the main meal it was way overpriced. There was very little lamb in the lamb tagine and comparable pubs would not have priced it at that. I won't be eating out at the Sun again...

Stayed one night en route to Scotland. The room was small. The double bed was approx a foot from the edge of the wall leading to the bathroom. It was laughable negotiating this! The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not and hampered our sleep. I always travel with my own hairdryer - thank goodness I did - I...

Our stay started with a distinctly lukewarm welcome, although once we got to our 'superior' double room we were happy. Plenty of space and a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom was sizeable but although it had an all-singing-and-dancing shower there was no bath. Evening meal - hand made burger - was disappointingly tasteless. Breakfast was lovely, made to order from...

Came in for lunch, expensive (especially £6.50 for kids cheese sandwich). Took a while to come (no biggy) but said sandwich came with no butter (apparently had to request?). Yet our neighbours had butter (and hadn't had to request). Service wasn't good - no-one came to see how our meal was and when my partner went to query the lack...

It's always good to find an alternative to the chains that dominate our travel and eating/drinking. The Sun Hotel in Lancaster provides that great alternative. An old well established inn, with great choice of beers to accompany home cooked food. The full english breakfast is just the best way to start the day working in or visiting historic Lancaster.
