We live very close to the Toll House Inn and we have used it for a casual evening drink, a long lazy lunch, a family / friend evening meal or even breakfast as a non-residence. The food is always of a really high standard and there is plenty of choice. The staff are helpful and friendly. The décor is traditional...

We visited this inn twice over the last couple of days whilst visiting a poorly relative at the Royal Infirmary. The first visit was a coffee and a latte - both absolutely lovely and served by very accommodating bar staff. The fire was on and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. The second visit was in the evening, with family,...

I took my parents here and we had a wonderful time. The service was great and friendly and the food was gorgeous. The food portions were really good and had lots of meat in the dishes. Lovely interior also! Not a single complaint and can't recommend enough!

Myself and husband stopped for lunch whilst Christmas shopping! I have to say although all home made and freshly cooked, the food was very bland. I had the pork and apple burger and to be honest it was tasteless. I was really disappointed as was my other half with his meal. Probably wouldn't eat here again in a hurry.

Very nicely renovated establishment. Our accommodation had bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. Very friendly staff. Breakfast starter choice of cereal, juice, fresh fruit salad & yoghurts. Various main choices. Full Lancashire grill consisted of an egg, a sausage, a rasher of bacon, a mushroom, a hash brown, half a tomato and a pot of beans [+ an extra fried egg...

Ate here midweek whilst visiting our son who lives in Lancaster. Nice interior and very good food I had the steak and ale pudding which was piping hot, very tasty gravy and a light suet crust. My husband and son both had a burger which they said was good too. Cheesecake dessert was gorgeous! Very nice meal, good beer and...

When this place first opened I visited many times and found it to be excellent. A year or so later I went again to the toll house and I was pleased to find that they had kept to the high standards that they had set for them selves. I had the steak and ale pudding which was great and every...

I stayed one night on business. My room was lovely and a good size. The bed was comfortable. There were some lovely extra touches including coffee bags rather than the usual instant coffee and a flask of fresh milk was provided. Both very much appreciated. Dinner was very tasty and breakfast was lovely. It would be my first choice if...
