This place is full of absolute riffraff, but I think that adds to it's appeal. No matter what you're like and how you look you won't feel out of place here. The music is usually terrible and poorly mixed too, but there's something about the venue that makes all it's inadequacies forgivable.

Started our night here and it did feel like everyone else had got a head start as it was early but some people were already well cooked! Door and bar staff friendly and music was up to date mixed with well known classics. The place seems a little half heartedly put together, like someone tried to make it upmarket on...

Another great start to New Year. Started here and returned after countdown, great pub with some good dance music. Good to see management taking drunk people seriously, as one man who couldn't walk was asked nicely to leave. Good priced drinks, nice staff and a good mix of people. No hand wash in the toilet though!

I live close by and had lots of people staying at the weekend so rather than the sofa, I booked a night here! People looked at me like I was nuts but it was just one night eh? Really pleasantly surprised. Room was spotless. Nice fresh cotton bedding. Great ensuite and shower, and plenty of space for me to chill...

Lovely staff, Lovely customers and great atmosphere. We had stayed over in picadilly and after a hectic day we went to canal street and popped in there and felt welcomed even though my two friends and I aren't gay. we danced and sang with the locals and had a blast. Thank you for putting up with us lol x

Me and my friends love it here!! We always end up here no matter where we are. Music is fab! Atmosphere is amazing and the drinks are super cheap! Love love love it here! Highly recommend people to try it out! Usually have to pay a small fee to get in.. Usually £1 or £2 but well worth it! Much...

We went to Manchester Pride weekend and found that everywhere was extremely busy with little room to move. A lot of times we ended up coming into New Union between going to other bars and we had a great time. There's a decent sized dance floor, stage, places to sit, pub area and even a pole! The DJ is good...

Been here several times over the last few years a found it a mixed bag. The entertainment is usually Cabaret or Disco and is fine, they even have a pole for people to play around on which is different. Drink prices are reasonable and of average quality. They usually have some sort of offer on. The bar is quite spacious...

My partner and were visiting Manchester for the night and wanted to venture to Canal Street. I found the bar to be very dated and attracted some, how shall I put it, unsavoury characters with the worse music playing ! I'm sure we were over charged for the drinks and certainly a lack of choice ! Felt like I was...

I have been coming here for years and will go in a few times a year. Less so in the day time. Myself and a friend went in here as a cheap day time drink option on a Sunday. We were shocked to see only the pub side of the place open and a handful of people in there. We...
