Visited the hotel on May 5th and first impressions were a beautiful hotel. However the room we had been allocated was unbearably hot with no air conditioning. We were then moved to another room which was well decorated and cooler. However that evening we were unable to get any sleep at all - there was a nightclub under the room,...

We stayed for one night having bought tickets to see Natalie Imbruglia at The Gorilla just across the road. We were upgraded to a lovely junior suite having only booked a standard room, a nice suprise! Lovely bowl of fresh fruit in the room along with yummy treats in the tea tray treat box. We had Sunday lunch in the...

My boyfriend booked this hotel as a surprise for Valentine's and we stayed for one night. The reception/lobby area is stunning (see pic). The room was lovely, clean and spacious. Bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom was filled with Elemis toiletries. In the room there was also a tuck box filled with tea, coffee, crisps and sweets. Good city...

We were very impressed with this hotel. The bedroom was only small but perfectly big enough for an over night stay. The tuck box was a lovely idea and the Elemis toiletries were great. If you don't like background noise, I would recommend asking for a room away from the bar, as we could hear the music late at night...

I had to think long and hard about this review because this hotel is really something. There are so many pros to this place, firstly the building is absolutely magnificent. The staff are exemplary, so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are exquisite, comfortable, good facilities and the tuck boxes are a great little addition. The flower shop at the front...

Dear Alistair R Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. I am so pleased that there were many aspects of your stay which you enjoyed such as our staff, architecture, breakfast and rooms. However, I am obviously disappointed to learn that your sleep was disturbed due to the heat levels in your room and...

I booked a deluxe double room for one night (Friday 28 April) after friendly email correspondence with the hotel's reservation team. I chose the hotel because of its proximity to the Palace theatre and as I was impressed by the beautiful architecture of the building when my office held a recent event there. We were allocated room 314, which was...

Dear Anthony B Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent stay. I am dismayed to learn that your stay was disturbed by noise from the bar and the street. It was obviously very disappointing and frustrating for you, especially after requesting a quiet room. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your experience with you...

We stayed for one evening at this charming Red Manchester Brick hotel (originally Insurance Company building and in its last guise was called The Palace which has been refurbished to a very high standard). Check-in was friendly and we stayed in a very spacious room (superior) with a small but nice bathroom. The bed was large and comfortable. Tea tray...

Attended a corporate conference here and every member of the team was friendly, helpful and courteous. The refurbishment is very impressive and the hotel is gorgeous throughout. All of the catering was to a very high standard.

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night during a work meeting. The place is full of charm. The staff is friendly. My only criticism is that some of the flush handles and taps are coming off. Overall, I recommend this hotel based on its almost nostalgic appeal.

I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay, although I will ensure that our Maintenance team conduct a full review of all flush handles and taps to ensure they are all in full working order.
