The charm this hotel brings as a converted warehouse is amazing. The natural exposed beams bring a great rustic quality to the modern room. The restaurant was good and we were greeted with a smile from Liz every morning for breakfast. They even accommodated my wife's request for caramel latte every day. I highly recommended for a relaxing central location to the downtown area!

I didn’t stay at the hotel but I came with my friends just for a few drinks at the bar on the sunny afternoon a couple days ago, very busy but despite that, fantastic service from Niall, on the bar serving us , very friendly and helpful, despite it seeming very understaffed , he had it under control

The hotel is lovely and very near to the city centre. A very short walk and you are nearby everything. The only thing that left a bit of a sour taste was that there was no parking available at the hotel. Instead I had to use a local NCP car park which cost £35 for the 19 hours my car was parked in it. No discount from the hotel either.

Had a very nice time at the Marriott! The location is great, less than 10 minute walk to lots of attractions such as Albert Schloss and the Alcatraz experience. It’s close enough to everything but far enough away that you don’t get the noise from the city. The hotel looks lovely, a water fountain on the outside with a modern, welcoming reception. The rooms themselves are great, original wooden beams meets modern interior. We had a quad room (2 double beds). The room was a good size. We went for a friends birthday and they kindly wrote a birthday note! As a little perk you get snacks and drinks in the room which is a nice touch. The hotel feels luxurious but at a great price. The only thing I would improve is air con. We didn’t have any in our room. There was an old style dial that had a cold setting but it didn’t work. Apart from that, this hotel is a must!

we have been coming to this hotel for a few years now and we love it, staff are very polite and helpful ,we arrived around 2.30/3pm our room wasn't ready so we went into spinning fields for a late lunch which is literally a 5 min walk to local bars restaurants etc. we came back and our room was ready and our cases taken up to the room for us. the room 328 was lovely and clean with everything you would need for your stay ,although watch the bathroom door frame if over 6 ft as i bumped my head a few times ..we did not eat in the restaurant this time round however we have eaten here and the food was lovely ( i think the food/menu has had a rebranding ) we will give it a try one day. the guy serving us in the bar was really nice and super polite but i can not remember his name unfortunately ,on a side note they serve aspalls cyder on draught which is my favorite and reasonable price too. had breakfast next morning and was surprised it wasn't buffet style anymore ,however was not a problem ,the breakfast was ordered along with fresh coffee served.. lots of choices to suit all. the breakfast was lovely hot and fresh , i have to apologies for the rather large review but i do review lots of places where we visit and this hotel is the only one where the manager Paul will read this whether good or bad and respond ,which is very rare in the industry so thankyou once again for a lovely stay which was well needed we hope to visit soon

Got an early check in and handed a key to a fourth floor room but as we walked along the corridor I saw that some of the rooms were Man United themed suites. To my absolute horror I found the room I had been given was one. I went inside and after barely a minute, I began to feel sick, tearful and anxious. The room was plastered with Man Utd pictures and references. I had received no warning that the room I was given would be decorated with this material and I immediately had to get out and ask for a proper room. The receptionist (Victoria) was very kind and quickly allocated me a normal room. The room was excellent, the bathroom fabulously modern and at £100 pn represented reasonable value. If I had been allocated such a room straight off, I would give the review five stars. Housekeeping staff were friendly and their work was exceptional. Small negatives: there is no TV guide so you have to channel hop through dozens of channels to find the one you want; the ironing board is useless as it is basically a honeycomb metal sheet covered by one thin cotton layer. I had to use a towel over it to even attempt to iron my clothes. Why hoteliers allow people who have no idea whatsoever about 'guest experience' to design hotel rooms is beyond my understanding. Usually this manifests itself in bathrooms and bedrooms being combined so you have to share a room with someone and look out the window while they go to the bathroom. At the Marriott V&A, it means that the 99% of the population that does not support Man Utd is at risk of being exposed to the most horrendous accommodation which they would never want to be anywhere near. Why has nobody thought this through? I was not at any time asked if having such a room would be ok. There is nothing on the booking process about even the existence of such rooms, so I had no chance to even ask not to be put in one. Only afterwards did I see a couple of photos on the gallery section of the hotel website. I have never felt so upset in a long time as I did having to be in that room even for a minute. I know that most Man Utd fans do not come from Manchester and have to travel from overseas to visit OT so they will routinely have to stay in hotels if they go to home games, so this will suit them very well but for me personally I found even being in that room traumatic, upsetting and nauseating. There was even a photo of OT in the bathroom for heaven's sake. What sort of imbecile would think that that is acceptable? Please be very careful when booking this otherwise very good hotel, so you do not get shaken up as I was.
