We stayed for one night after a gig and after reading some reviews before hand I was worried. The staff were friendly the bar had a great atmosphere with lots of character and our room was comfortable, clean and worth every penny. My only fault is with the 3 shared bathrooms. 1 was absolutely fine, 1 had no toilet seat...

Stayed here whilst in Manchester for a gig for 1 night. Superb location, safe area & clean hotel. Being part of a pub is not an issue, the pub itself seemed friendly & after hours you can let yourself in the back door with the key. Not noisy at all considering it was a pub & the room was perfect...

Hotel is situated in picturesque old building (XIX century?). Ground floor is classic english pub with good choice of beers, ales and strong spirits. Many local people are gathering there in the evenings. Guest rooms are situated on the 1st floor (above the pub). Rooms are clean, bed linen is fresh, beds are comfortable. The hotel is non-smoking area. BA...

I would like to be positive about our stay here, but I cannot find words to describe the epic failure that it is! Unclean, massively unfriendly. Unbelievable.

As we come on a regular basis to enjoy the Roayal Exchange we found a place where we feel comfortable. The landlord and -lady and their staff make you feel welcome and you can have as much fun staying in the bar as you can have going out in town.

The room was a filthy, dirty and stuffy booth. Sleeping was completely impossible,as there was loud live music every evening. The toilet was dirty too, also the shower. The room wasn´t even proper lockable. A stinking place. The location is quite good, just in the centre.
