This was not our first choice of accommodation in Bordeaux but due to the pandemic our original hotel remained closed so we booked the Adagio based on budget and location.
Getting to the hotel from the Airport is super easy as the bus drops you right next to the hotel, which was welcoming given it was 39c when we arrived!!
Also next to the hotel is a shopping mall with a large supermarket, so easy to stock up on breakfast essentials for a 4 night stay, as well as a nice bottle of wine (or two)

The apartment was specious and clean but the decor is dire!! Its so bland and soulless, however the bed was comfy and the shower was decent. The AC was just about ok on the lowest setting at full blast during the heatwave, but I would have liked it a little colder.
Front desk staff were friendly and nice to deal with.

We stayed here for four nights before heading off to our biking tour in the Dordogne region.
The hotel was easy to access from the airport – take the A Tram right outside the airport and get off at the Gambetta Tram stop. The hotel is just on the other side of the shopping complex, less than a five minute walk away.

Arriving at 9am, we were told that our room would not be ready until 3pm. Staff at reception were helpful but their English limited, depending on who was on duty. We are bilingual so this did not affect us but other guests struggled to be understood. After storing our bags, we headed out to explore.

Once we checked in, we were informed that we were ungraded to a larger room. Our room was well appointed and functional, although I found it odd that the toilet was located outside the bathroom, on the other side of the room, without any hand washing area.
The kitchen area was well equipped, but we only prepared our breakfasts and snacks. My husband did partake in the in house breakfast buffet which he found under whelming, the food was cold, selection limited and an altogether poor value for 14E.

The area is surrounded by numerous restaurants of all different price points and there is a large supermarket in the mall right down the street.

The bed was comfortable as was our sleep. Our room faced a small square. There is a screen that separates the sleeping area from the living/kitchen area should your partner wish to stay up.

Our bathroom had a shower that was separate from the tub. My major complaint that only one towel was provided per person and you had to pay extra to have them changed or your room cleaned.

Most days we just explored Bordeaux on foot which was easy to do. The hotel is very well located. The trams were affordable and easily accessed. We also went to St. Emilion one day to explore and visit a few wineries. As an aside, entrance to museums is free on the first Sunday of each month, but generally. Most stores were closed on Sundays, or operated under reduced hours.

Laundry facilities were available on the first floor, but during our entire visit, the dryer did not work - tokens can be purchased at the front desk. One elevator was also out of order during our stay and the TV only has one English BBC news station.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel.

Booked this place cos of the location and have a small kitchen just in case I don’t feel like going out to eat every night. The stay was perfect, all staff were friendly, everything was clean in the room. Cos I did worry about dirty dishes or pans and all, everything was in perfect condition and clean.
The location was great, I can go to all the sights on foot and there are supermarket and a lot of restaurants around the corner.
There’s no noise from outside when the windows are closed even we are facing the road and plaza.
Will go back again, we enjoyed the stay a lot.

Very spacious and clean apartment, equipped with everything that may be needed in a short stay (dishes, dishwasher, clean sponges and dish detergent, cooker, microwave, kettle, coffee pod machine - but without pods, which can be purchased at reception - iron and ironing board, broom) we were traveling with small children and therefore needed to prepare simple meals on our own, nothing was missing from the equipment we needed. our apartment was equipped with a bathtub and shower and a toilet room separate from the rest of the bathroom, very useful when there are many of us, main double bed, a double sofa bed, another single bed, a large living area, two small armchairs, a large table . We asked for a room on the upper floors and from the sixth floor the view is very beautiful and enjoyable, our apartment was on the corner of the building and was equipped with 4 large windows which made the apartment bright and very pleasant.
The rooms were well soundproofed and very clean, the reception staff was very kind and helpful, they provided us with a cot for our baby and a high chair and lots of information for visiting the city.
Books for reading and board games to pass the time are always available at the reception, useful for those like us who were traveling with children of different ages and different needs and rhythms.
Excellent location: 100 meters from Place de la Gambetta, where the main street and the historic center worth visiting starts, 10 minutes on foot (pedestrian area) to Place de la Bourse and 12 minutes on foot to the Jardin Public.
Perfect for discovering the city on foot.
Around the corner is the museum of illusions (for those interested) and the Meriadeck shopping centre, where you can find practically everything, including the supermarket for purchasing food.
You can easily get there from the airport with tram line A, 1.80 euros per person, very convenient.
I highly recommend it, we had a great time and will definitely return!

This apart hotel is in a perfect location for visitors to Bordeaux, Gambetta has lots of lovely restaurants & bars right on the doorstep of this apart hotel & is easy walking distance to the centre it is also close to all tram & bus routes . There is a large shopping centre less than 5 minutes walk away. We booked a studio apartment which was adequate for our needs. My main issue with Adagio Gambetta is that the toilet in the apartment does not have any hand washing facilities & was separate from the shower & other washing facilities . Staff were friendly & helpful, security was good & we could leave our luggage on the last day. Would stay here again.

The location is ideal, just a short walk from the old town with bus stops virtually outside the hotel and tram stops just a few minutes' walk away. There's a huge Auchan supermarket in the Meriadeck Shopping Centre around the corner, a boulangerie across the square from the hotel and a branch of Picard next door. The A tram took us from outside the terminal at Bordeaux Airport to within a few minutes' walk of the aparthotel.

Our spacious studio consisted of seating and dining areas, a well-equipped kitchenette with a good sized-fridge, a dishwasher, a stovetop and a microwave, a sleeping area with plenty of storage and a retractable screen which divided it from the living area, good lighting and a large comfortable bed, and a good bath-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower and a full-sized bath, plus a separate toilet. Everything was in good repair, was spotlessly clean and worked well.

Our room was located on the 5th floor and had a long balcony overlooking a tree-lined inner courtyard. It was very quiet and we slept well. Check in and out was very efficient and friendly. Housekeeping is only included in the hotel rate for stays of 7 nights or more, and can otherwise be requested for an additional payment. We had no problem with the lack of housekeeping as we enjoy our privacy and also prefer to clean up after ourselves (there was a room with trash bins on the ground floor and a supply of new rubbish bags available on request from reception).

Our only negative was the in-room heating. This was set to a maximum temperature which was fine for the first couple of days when outdoor temperatures were around 10-12C. But we could have done with a bit more heat when daytime temperatures dropped to 2-4C and even colder at night. There were additional small heaters available to borrow from reception but it would have been easier if we could have just raised the heating control in our room by a degree or two.

Our room-only rate was great value and we would happily stay in Adagio Bordeaux Centre Gambetta again.

Good location within easy walking distance to the centre and river. We had booked a bed apartment for a four night stay. The apartment was clean, spacious and had a small well equipped kitchenette. On arrival we were greeted by being told we needed to leave a credit card open with them as deposit to cover any damages during our stay, that there would be no fresh towel changes and no room service or cleaning unless we paid an additional charge. They also said we could have reduced price entrance to an Egyptian virtual experience next to the hotel if we booked through the hotel reception. Not the most welcoming check-in but it was honest. When it was time to check out, we asked reception about booking a taxi to the airport for us. When we enquired about the cost, they quoted €45 so we booked our own for about €20. The train would have been even cheaper but would have meant quite a walk with bags in hot weather. We had a great time exploring Bordeaux and the region and would definitely return. However due to the initial welcome and hidden extra costs, we would stay elsewhere.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your stay. There are no hidden extral charges, as in all the aparthotels, weekly cleaning is included in your rate, which is explained during the booking process and at check-in. We could have offered additional optional cleaning if you had asked us to do so. Regarding the taxi rate, it is a taxi company and not private driver and only information about the fare. The customer chooses what he wishes. We hope to see you again. Best regards, General Manager

This hotel was in a nice location within easy walking distance of most of Bordeaux and on a number of tram and bus lines. Room was nice, basic but it had everything needed. The kitchen was very small and you would struggle to make any significant meals. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This hotel is great for a stay of several days or more. The studio room size is perfect for two, with enough room so both can work without disturbing each other. The kitchen has a very efficient layout, and invites creativity using all the Bordeaux fresh produce, meats, cheeses available within a few blocks. When a restaurant is desired instead, there are plenty in the area, and shops, museums and a Tram are also a quick walk away. Service is friendly and efficient. We were made to feel welcome and appreciated each day, and could have stayed much longer.

A very pleasant place to stay for 3 adults in a very convenient location for pedestrian access to the city, with a tram very near the hotel for simple access to the airport. Staff were very helpful and the room was pleasant; the fridge and dishwasher were very useful during our stay. The sheets covering the single sofabed could be improved upon but this did not detract significantly from our stay. Would recommend and would certainly stay again.
