A friend and I stayed at the Boutique hotel in late August 2024 for a few nights, and we absolutely loved it! From the time we arrived until we left, the entire staff was so friendly and accommodating. They were always available with restaurant recommendations, help with our room, and to bring us new towels or fresh water. Our room was perfect for us, and was clean and comfortable. We loved the wine bar for a late night drink before bed, and the breakfast each morning was really delicious and freshly made, I was not expecting much from a hotel as we just ate breakfast there for convenience but they truly went above and beyond when it came to food. The location was also great, right in the middle and accessible to everything, but quiet enough that we didn't notice any noise or crowds.

As a first time traveler to Bordeaux our time at Le Boutique Hotel was impeccable, flawless, and memorable from start to finish.

First, Hollie, Paul and the entire from desk staff were always pleasant and welcoming no matter when you talked with them. Paul and Hollie would always engage and greet you as you were walking inside or outside the hotel if they saw you. The mark of a great staff is that they greeted you by name every time you came into the hotel, and they genuinely wanted to know how your day was going and if there was anything they could do for you.

The rooms....impeccable. Even with smaller European rooms we had plenty of space to store all of belongings for a 7 day stay. We had zero issue with closet space. The bed was also the most comfortable bed that we had in a very long time, and we continue to talk about how we miss the bed. The shower was great having both a rain shower head and a handheld wand. Water pressure was great, as there was plenty of water pressure. A very nice touch for this time of year was that the air conditioning in the room worked!! Most hotels in Europe would have it off at this point. Bonus points for the hotel!! The cleaning staff for the rooms were also incredible as they kept the rooms well put together. Having the mini fridge stocked well, and the daily replenishment of the water was very nice.

Wine in the evening was excellent!! Selection was solid, albeit slightly overpriced.

Breakfast was perfection. The smoked trout in the morning is beyond delicious, and the other assorted offerings far exceeded expectations. You are missing a treat if you skip breakfast.....make sure you have breakfast at the hotel!!

All in all we miss being with Hollie, Paul and the team. We cannot wait to come back.

If you are in Bordeaux, this is the place to stay!!

Not a 5 star hotel , more 4 star , some of the staff are good and excellent , others have there own agenda . And your food manager should not shout across the breakfast room asking me is your breakfast included , when it is and , she should know from there internal systems . Which I was very taken back by , and had to get my friend up from her table , to literally show her what we had booked . The assistant front manager is rude to staff and customers.also some staff book there friends restaurant for you ,and when you arrive they are there , and resulting in them joining you , which is not very pleasant . Also , my friend lost her key card , and one of the staff that was drinking earlier ,in the restaurant was back in the hotel , and cut me a new key card , not good . Also the rooms are good and clean that I do have to say , there is little treats in your room water , minerals , sweets , but not stocked up every day , which is poor for the prices the hotel is charging , also where my room was off the main garden , was very noisy, if you were going to bed early , I also saw tables not cleared for about 45 mins and staff standing around , and when you are checking out after paying good money for a 5 star hotel you do not even get a goodbye or how was your stay and would you come back seriously ? I travel the world with work , and stay in 5 star and 4 star hotels , but I would ask the owners to relook at some problems in this hotel 1 staff , 2 more customer focused . And finally make it more value for money .

O had to think carefully about how to rate this hotel as there are pros and cons.

Pros
Lovely old building and fantastic location. Staff all really friendly.

Cons
Room had bathroom within the room so if you showered the steam all goes into the room. Not ideal in summer when the old air con cannot keep up. The toilet door opened outwards alongside the bed so in the night you basically sit on the loo looking at the bed!
No restaurant for a lot of the week and no one in the bar for most of the time so no atmosphere in the public areas.
Fake grass out by the pool made it feel a bit cheap and not 5* standard.
Breakfast was plentiful but as there wasn't many people the hot food was cold. We actually ended up going out for breakfast after the first day. My suggestion would be to cook the hot food on request so it's served warm.

Dear Sir or Madam Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are pleased that you enjoyed the building, the location and the friendly staff. We have also taken into account your constructive comments regarding the bathroom, the air conditioning, and the configuration of the toilets. We will be considering improvements to these aspects to enhance the comfort of our rooms. Regarding services, we are sorry to hear that the absence of a restaurant and the intermittent presence of bar staff affected your experience. We note your suggestion on breakfast and will look into the possibility of serving hot food on demand to ensure it is always hot. Your feedback is valuable to us and we are constantly looking for ways to improve. We look forward to welcoming you back and providing you with an even better experience. My 19-night stay at Le Boutique Hotel was a wonderful experience. The team was really top notch, and the hotel itself and the location were great too.

The Amazing Team
Thanks to the fantastic team of receptionists and concierges, led by Domenico, my time at Le Boutique Hotel was really special. Throughout my stay, everyone was so welcoming, helpful, gracious, and professional.

After making my reservation, I reached out to Paul, the hotel’s wonderful concierge, to ask his advice about numerous day trips and wine tours I was interested in. I explained that I was going to spend a few weeks in Bordeaux to explore the region and study French at a local school. He wrote back with an extremely helpful summary of some wine-related excursion options and suggestions for visits to various towns and regions, including one to the Perigord Noir with a private guide, which turned out to be excellent!. Once I was staying at the hotel, what impressed me the most was the care and effort he put into organizing a given excursion, thinking through various options to find one that would best meet my objectives and interests.

In addition to Paul, the entire group of receptionists and concierges working at the front desk were excellent. They were all so focused on making my stay the best it could be, with great suggestions for restaurants and interesting activities in Bordeaux, as well as really helpful insights into the highlights of some of the cities I was planning to visit. It was a true pleasure to talk with them at the start and end of my activity-filled days.

In addition, the folks working in the restaurant/bar were wonderful too. They were very considerate and accommodating and a pleasure to talk with.

I feel very fortunate to have stayed at LBH and to have gotten to know the members of their superlative team. Thanks to each team member, my two and a half week stay in beautiful Bordeaux was much richer than it otherwise would have been.

The Lovely Hotel Itself
Excellent location: a short walk to tram lines, including one line that goes directly to the train station; easy walk to lots of interesting sites and neighborhoods; lots of good restaurants within a three to 10 minute walk.

Lovely breakfast: very nice mix of warm and cold buffet choices, including eggs, potatoes, smoked fish, fresh fruit, fruit salad, breads, and various delicious home-made baked goods; the hosts and all of the waitstaff were very friendly and helpful.

Comfortable room: very comfortable and spacious interior-courtyard-facing room with lots of light; fresh bottles of water and delicious cannelés every day; very good housekeeping and turndown service.

The Pension is ideally located with access to the historic centre of the city. Just a few steps from Place Gambetta, the courtyard and the Place des grands hommes, it still allows you to stay slightly away in a small street to stay calm
Located in an old mansion. An atmosphere of a neo-retro Bordeaux is present as soon as you pass the porch

One room was booked on the occasion of a wedding anniversary. The team took care of the couple by paying special attention during the preparation of the room (decor, small personalized word....)
The atmosphere is family-friendly where everyone manages to bring their little experience in a natural way, whether it’s on wine at the bar, or as an unusual Trip Tip to visit in the city.
You don’t ask for any better when you enter a Pension that has its own past and history....

The location is fantastic, right in the center. Young and very kind staff. Elegant yet modern decor. Good breakfast, fresh products.
Offer in the restaurant in the evening rather limited, long waiting time (but we arrived late).
Our room was strange in which the shower was exposed. The rooms in the second Pavillon are detached from the central body and when it rains it is a bit uncomfortable.
However I would definitely return. Thank you for the attention you gave us in the room for our anniversary.
Ps. For the cleaning of the rooms there is a controller who passes after the femme de ménage! Wow

The ideal hotel for a romantic weekend to discover Bordeaux! The Boutique Hotel is ideally located in the heart of the city center, a stone's throw from shops and centers of interest. The elegance room was perfect, air conditioned with a very comfortable bed. The staff takes great care, we were treated to a welcome drink on the roof of the hotel and were able to enjoy the swimming pool and spa after a long day of sightseeing.
I highly recommend this hotel in a typical sleeping beauty mansion. To do again very quickly.
