We stayed for three nights on a long weekend in Bordeaux. This is an elegant and charming place to stay and was perfect for our visit to the city. L'Arene is located in a historical residential area just a short walk from the city centre. We had a view of the Palais Galien from our room's window. Our room was...

We visited early in the new year and had a wonderful stay. The hotel is unique in that it combines contemporary style with a classic and homely ambience. It is centrally located and served a quality breakfast of breads, cheeses and ham. Jean-Marie was a friendly and welcoming host with some invaluable tips on two fantastic local restaurants, the region...

Great base for Bordeaux stay. Walking distance to city. Comfortable beds. Very helpful host. Good breakfast though a little expensive at €11 each. Cité du vin muséum very interesting and well worth a visit. River frontage spectacular now modernised. Host Jean Marie good at recommending local places to eat.

We stayed in this quirky b&b for a night before continuing our travels. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the street. The b&b was located in a great area for us and we enjoyed walking around the local area. Everything was within walking distance. The host recommended a few restaurants for us to eat dinner in. We stopped...

The hotel is nicely maintained by a private individual owner. With a nice shower, minibar featuring Bordeaux wines, and a yummy breakfast of fruits, eggs and croissants, we were sad to leave the place. The host was kind but not intrusive (as can be in other Bordeaux places frankly). The location is also nice, in a neighborhood about a 5-10...

One night stay en route to the Dordogne. Arrived sleep-deprived after overseas flight via Paris. House is in an authentic if somewhat charmless part of the city, not far from the busy and attractive center. Though check-in is given as 5:00, Jean checked us in about 1:30, explaining the house and amenities thoroughly. Room was large, clean, and comfortable, if...

Well worth a stay some 10 minutes walk from the centre. The house has a very casual atmosphere which we really appreciated. The owner was on site and most welcoming, good late night hospitality and excellant breakfast for 9 euros.

Jean Marie was very nice and the breakfast was good. The room was at the top and difficult to carry bags up 2 flights of circular stairs. Very good location and main level was very nice. The bathroom floor was terribly dirty so my wife placed towels on the floor after wiping up water and realizing that the napkin was...
