This rather basic hotel has the most wonderful views from the sea facing rooms. We spent one night there knowing that you get what you pay for. The room was large and clean but basic, The shower, whilst lovely and hot had a faulty shower head bracket so you had to hold the head up whilst trying to shower, This...

When the adjacent bar "Le Bistrot des Sables" turned everyone away because of the inclement weather; they wouldn't serve outside in the stormy weather! Many customers ended up at "Les Grands Voyageurs". Next door's loss... I had lovely moules frites, (chips served in trendy white paper) hubby a delicious omelette and - as usual - he ended with a yummy...

Very popular lunchtime venue located in " Le Port" in Concarneau. Reasonable prices and friendly service. Would recommend for a lunchtime drink or snack, maybe more. Be prepared to wait for a table at busy times. This review relates to the hotel restaurant only - we did not stay in the hotel.

We were staying nearby in Camping St Laurent in Foret le Fouscenent and love Concarneau. We had lunch here on a Monday in June when it was just torrential rain and our planned trip to Vannes and Lorient was abandoned. Everyone was crammed inside the making it very cosy. Had the best moules a la creme around and a massive...

We tried to escape the omni-present crepes and chose something light from the menu. The hot dog was served with cheese grilled inside with the wiener - unique experience! The croque was very crispy and nice. Good Bordeaux by the glass.

The sound of the Beatles song rang in my mind as I checked in with my darling wife who wasn't feeling her best after a 6 hour drive from the Dordogne. Why had I inflicted this on her. Well, 56 years beforehand, I'd stayed in Concarneau on a family holiday and I believed it had beeen at Les Grands Voyageurs....

Very tired, dark and 'quirky' rooms, stinking exterior drains which permeates into the room if you are daft enough to open a window, howling wind noise due to poorly fitted doors and a rubbish breakfast. Sad as it's got a great location and it could be so much more. I've been cycle touring France for the past fortnight and this...
