We stayed in a building separate from the main house which was very private, no stairs required, and just short distance to the dining room. The second floor pool is unusual but nice. What was most spectacular were the helpful owners and the food--including an afternoon cooking class. We would highly recommend La Cimentelle.

What a magnificent property and wonderful history of a very special French family. La Cimentelle was built in the 1730's and has been in the same family since. It is evident that they love and cherish this beautiful stately home. Attention to detail and modern facilities are all evident within a time capsule. The grounds are spacious and a pleasure... We stayed for 6 nights this September in 'La Petite Cimentelle'- the self-contained accommodation (or 'Gite') next to the main house. It is a fabulous space for families (we have 2 kids) and the photos on their website really don't do it justice. La Cimentelle itself is located a few km from Avallon, a lovely old town with all the... More

We stayed for just one in September night while touring Burgundy. It's a wonderful, if a bit quirky, old property--pleasant room, warm and welcoming host, lovely garden, excellent and generous breakfast. But whats really special is the evening meal offered at the inn's kitchen table. The cooking was very good, the price fair, and the opportunity to chat with other... More

The title says it all! We stayed at some very expensive places but this struck the right chord. The hosts we lovely, very welcoming. We ate dinner with 6 people we had never met but by the end of the evening with delicious food, and a few glasses of wine we were having a great time. The veal was the... More

My partner booked the property for an overnight stay whilst we were touring the region. We arrived in the middle of the village fete (for want of a better description). Stefan very kindly rushed over to let us in to the grounds as the gates were closed and traffic a bit congested outside. I have forgotten the name of the... More

I stayed for only two nights at La Cimentelle - a beautiful house and an awesome, silent and wonderful decorated and spacious bedroom on the first floor. A very nice, outside swimming-pool in the first floor of the abandoned old cement factory was a real plus when the outside temperature was around 30C... The host/hostess Stephan and Nathalie served a... More

I looked at the pictures of this old manor and fell in love with the place. We arrived at 2:00 o´clock and according to the sign, the office would be open for registration at 3:00, so my family and I wander around the gardens and even took a nap on a lounger. The trees, the flowers, the pond were a... More

Many thanks for your photos; but we fell that your review about our B&B is not fair and not exact. I will correct it for the good information of our next travelers. As you can see in a photography of a previous American Guest on TripAdvisor that our check-in time is 4 pm, not 3 pm or even 2 pm.... More

We only had one night in the Ernest apartment, but it was awesome. We had the communal dinner and I cannot begin to tell you what an amazing experience it was, sitting outside on the lawn and talking to other guests while being brought course after course of spectacular, fresh, home grown food. Breakfast was equally fantastic. You simply must... More

We recently stayed in this lovely place while on a visit to the Loire. We stayed here while on our way to Sancerre. I was here with my adult son and his girlfriend. We all loved our evening here. The "little chateau" is just beautiful, quiet and gracious. The grounds and flowers are beautiful. We had a lovely breakfast served... More
