A good bed & breakfast choice, 10 minutes walk from the historic heart of Dijon, with secure parking. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a kettle but no functioning internet, which was annoying; the hotel’s reaction was a smile and very Gallic shrug. Breakfast was reasonable, with good quality breads and croissants, along with some fruit, cheese and cold cuts; there were eggs for self boiling.
Perfect hotel and location to visit Dijon. We stayed for one night but would have loved to stay longer and will definitely return to the Wilson Hotel on our next visit to Dijon. Very friendly staff. The privat car park was very important as we had luggage and bicycles with us. The rooms are nice and beds are comfortable. The shower would be my only negative as they are old style small cubicles.
We were traveling to the South of France and we used the hotel as the 1 night stop. We visited the city of Dijon which is very nice. The hotel was pefectly on a walking distance to the ancient city centre. The rooms where charming and clean. We had some problems with the airco in 1 room. But in the other room the airco was working well. Breakfast was basic. The only inconvienant was the absence of cold drinks in a central refridgerator. This would have been a plus after a long trip and also after a evening walk. But, we will come back next year, for sure!
I booked a room at this hotel by telephone about two months before our planned stay, however I did not receive the email confirmation of the booking until I called again to ask for it about three weeks before we were due to leave. From the pictures on the internet and the price of the room - €118 per night - we had expected to have a pleasant room. When we arrived in the evening, exhausted after a very long car journey, we were shocked to see that we had been allocated a minute room next to the lift! We were just too tired to ask for a different room and as it was only for one night we decided to just accept the situation. The room overlooked the busy Place Wilson and it was very noisy if you opened the window to get any air. The carpet was filthy and the television remote control stopped working when we tried to switch the television off. The positive points were the decor which was pretty and traditional and the clean cotton sheets. The bathroom was very small but clean. The young lady at the desk who welcomed us when we arrived was very polite and pleasant, however, the following morning, the other lady at the desk was positively unfriendly and totally indifferent to my husband’s comments about the problems with the room. I think that she was the manager. Her attitude confirmed that we would never return to this hotel. We paid €10 for the hotel off street parking. The access to the garage is extremely awkward being at the rear of the hotel on a narrow street. There is very little space to manoeuvre the car to exit the garage. All in all, this was a very disappointing experience. The breakfast was adequate but very standard and unimaginative. We have had far better breakfasts at other chambres d’hôtes establishments. On a positive note, we had an amazing meal at the next door restaurant - Restaurant Origine - it was expensive but, after months and months of not eating out due to C19, we felt that we deserved the treat!…
Great place to lay your head at the end of the day. Cozy and comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to old town. Available parking in tight garage but outside parking also available. Pet friendly.
