The owner checked us in and although he was professional he was lacking people skills, not smiling, very serious and we felt he just wanted us to go to our rooms right away. The room was large, dark with only one window but the bathroom was very modern. Housekeeping was not the best as the carpets were not vacuumed but... More

Visiting on the hottest days of the year (it felt like, anyway), we loved the AC! We were on the top floor, and it was very quiet. Small room; small bathroom, but perfect for two. We didn't have large suitcases, so we fit just fine. Location is easy walking distance to chateaus, river, center. We didn't have breakfast, as we... More

Second visit to Amboise and stayed 3 nights. On arrival, the gentleman at the front desk was welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The luggage service had failed to deliver (we had walked from Chaumont that day) and he quickly and effectively followed up. The building is a beautiful old half-timbered house converted to a B&B. The room was not unusually... More

We got a family room on the second floor with the family, lovely, no fuss, no frills, clean place at 2* prices but in the heart of town and surrounded by very expensive places. The couple running the hotel are very pleasant and helpful with whatever. There is a covered garage (premium in Amboise at high season) and breakfast -... More

The room was just ok-kind of a rip off. I had a double superior, and the shower was not great. The older male receptionist was not polite, helpful, friendly, or welcoming. The breakfast was very basic. The younger man receptionist the next day was very helpful and nice. Overall I stayed in better hotels around the area for less cost.

The hotel is well positioned for sightseeing and shops. The family room we had was small but perfectily adequate for two adults and two children It was a very nice surprise to find a new modern bathroom which lifted the general plainness of the room . On arrival our window was open which was fine but when we returned a... More

I ended up being very late and wasn't thinking of the hotel reception opening hours, luckily they rang me and let me know that the key was in a certain place. The hotel is located perfectly, the rooms are spotless and well appointed. For the price you won't find much better. Great staff!!!

Clean, comfortable, well located, inexpensive, good value ... Generally fine all round. Situated just a few minutes walk from the chateau and all the commerce of the town, ie restaurants, shops etc. Our room was perfectly adequate for a couple of nights, particularly as we only wanted to use it for sleep and to dip into to change after a... The rooms are quaint and cosy. We stayed there for one night on our way from Pays de La Loire to Chateau D'Olonnes on the West coast of France. The red linen added a beautiful touch to the ancient atmosphere of the place. Didn't opt for breakfast, but the stay was good. The bathrooms are very modern. If you do... More
