We chose this hotel as our base for a three day stay in Loire Valley. The location is perfect for a quiet setting and central to use as a base in this area. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean and very suitable. Breakfast was delightful with assorted produce from the area. All was fresh and...

To begin, Azay le Rideau is terrifically charming. Although there is not parking right at the hotel, there are several free lots just steps away. The chateau here is just down the street and has really lovely grounds. When we arrived, the owner of the hotel welcomed us and provided us with a map of the town to orient us....

To begin with, hosts Patrick and Marie could not have been more helpful. Once inside, we were wowed with the lovely indoor sitting areas, outdoor courtyard, and charming hallways, not to mention our tastefully laid out, fully renovated room. The breakfast buffet was delicious each day. We were extremely happy here and hope to be able to return.

This hotel in Azay de Rideau is why I love to go to France! We are always looking for the small village that is picturesque with enough tourists to have good restaurants and shops but not enough to be well known. The villages' main draw is a grand chateau just down the street from the hotel. The hotel itself is...

Thank you so much for this nice review. We are really happy that you enjoyed our hotel and the village as well. It is a great pleasure to see long distance travelers coming to Europe and appreciate all the things France can offer. Azay-le-Rideau has the chance to have nice shops, different good restaurants and great atmosphere. Ce n'est qu'un...

We were booked in to this hotel as part of our bicycle tour package with UTracks. It was easy to find and amazingly located in a thoroughfare that leads directly to the chateau, only a short walk away. There are shops - tourist gift shops, cafes etc opposite and adjacent. There was a garage to lock our bikes in. The...

My mother and I spent two nights at the Hotel de Biencourt in mid-October. We had a charming room up a broad flight of stairs [with a good handrail, which Mom appreciated]; twin beds, good shower, nice linens and toiletries. The manager Patrick was extremely helpful, lugging Mom's bags up to our room, and provided good advice on nearby restaurants....

We stayed at the hotel for one night en route. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and have created a lovely ambience. The courtyard is a lovely facility, as is the ad lib tea and coffee-making facility, and fridge guests can use to chill their own wine. Our room in the old school was small, but well-appointed. We loved...

Our stay in Azay le Rideau was a highlight of our trip. The village is charming, and in a beautiful setting. Biencourt is extremely comfortable -- our room was large and tastefully appointed, and we enjoyed the courtyard between the two buildings comprising the hotel. Also the service was friendly and very accommodating. We had a very relaxing lunch at...

I loved, loved, loved this little hotel. Was previously a boys school in front and a girls school across the courtyard. Original wooden floors, large rooms and modern bathrooms. Great eating area downstairs. Situated on a lovely little street not even 1/2 block from the chateau. Cute little shops and eating places all within a few blocks. I would highly...

This little gem should not be missed. Situated in the charming village of Azay-Le-Rideau, it's just a 5 minute walk to the lovely chateau (surrounded by its own moat). Right in the center of the village, yet quiet and private, this lovely hotel is in a former convent. Lovely courtyard, where you can relax or enjoy your breakfast. Rooms are...
